I had an amazing time at Sylvia's place with all her adorable animals. I had a beautiful room and did a lot of outside jobs when the weather was good, which I really enjoyed. Sylvia is such a kind and generous person. She took me to some events with her, introduced me to many friends and let me ride her absolutely lovely horses. And although she doesn't like cooking her meals were always delicious. If you love animals and a quiet rural place, this is your host to be. I hope I can visit her again some day.

We stayed with Margret, Derek and Marshall for about two weeks and we enjoyed every day. Margret lives in a sunny little town, with a nice beach and an estuary. Every day we went together with Margret and the cute dog Marshall to the beach and had a very refreshing swim in the waves. We all got along very well right from the start and had many pleasant conversations. Working together was harmonious and everyone was able to contribute. Margret showed us around her town and gave us lots of tips for excursions and the rest of our trip. We enjoyed cooking and eating together and had a wonderful time. Many thanks to Margret and Derek for the great time.

Sacha is a true angel at heart, kind, wise and very diligent. She synced with our household from the first moment, and it felt like she had always been a part of the team. Walking our wonderful dog puma, babysitting my son Atticus, cooking, cleaning, baking bread, gardening driving us to town and back, she made our lives so much more comfortable and added both magic and joy to our days. We all miss Sacha! If you get a chance to host her, you won't regret it, you'll have a fantastic experience, I'm sure.

This has been a truly amazing experience. Sharing here is a core value, and it has taught me the real meaning of giving to others. Being surrounded by the staff, the students, and everyone here has made me feel so much love. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I’m sure anyone who comes here as a volunteer will love it! Hassan arrived when the professionals were nearly done with the work in the guest house. Then there were still a lot to be done, and we worked together on certain tasks. Experienced in building and renovation, and he is able to do a variety of tasks. As there are several ways of fulfilling a task, Hassan always makes sure about the way I prefer, starts the work only after there is a clear plan, and finishes the task before starting another. Hassan is responsible and reliable. He is kind and friendly. Hosting him is a pleasure. Always welcome!

Anne is a kind person by heart. She has experience in living in different cultures and has extensive knowledge in social sciences in general. She has been a great company. We had interesting conversations, and I definitely learned things from her. Structured, well-organised and at the same time flexible when unexpected situations arise… With the help, she has been very generous. She helped with the baby, ensuring quality time for him; made delicious and healthy meals and set beautiful tables; organised some stuff in the house which brought better order in the house. I am glad that I will have the chance to host her again in spring!

Gordon was planning to come in February, but changed his stay to an available spot I had in January. The day after his arrival, we started working in the small house in my property together. While throwing away the building rubbish, his back got injured. He went to hot baths, fasted and rested for some days. Later, Gordon started to help with the baby and photographed the house for me which I supposed to send to the real estate agent, which still didn t happen. Like all babies, Denis can be difficult, especially in my presence, and can cry. When I leave the room, he stops crying in a minute or two, which is not an uncommon behaviour for a baby of his age. And, I, for sure, know my baby. Yet, Gordon wanted to act like a judge. My reluctance in discussing the issue in the way Gordon wanted, made Gordon leave urgently, but not that urgently. He moved his large amount of belongings to his van from the evening and prepared his van without giving me a notice. He slept the night in the house and repeated the judge position. He just put on his shoes and left after my quietness. Gordon was perfectly prepared for himself, but did not have time to tidy up and clean the room. Gordon has been disrespectful, and showed irresponsible behaviour. He is unreliable; he left days before agreed departure day, not saying even thank you to my neighbour who was kind to bring him oil and borrow her juicer upon his request, even though they had small talk while he was preparing his van -not even mentioned her that he was preparing to leave. I should not be doing housekeeping in Gordon s room after his leave. Gordon never sent the pictures he took for me, even though I kindly requested them after his departure.

Claire Bear was great. All you could ask for; happy, friendly, respectful, good humoured, hard working, generous, and self aware. She stayed with us twice, and it was really sad to see her go. She is welcome back any time.

Selma helped us out at short notice, caring for our doggies and being around for our teenager when we had to go away for a weekend. She was polite, intelligent, friendly and helpful.

Phillipe stayed with me during some of the worst storms we’ve had in years, I was so grateful for his calm, steady presence. While the weather was challenging, he remained positive and resilient, taking everything in his stride and bringing a reassuring energy to my home. He housesat for the first week and proved completely trustworthy and respectful. He helped with so many practical jobs — fixing blinds, putting up shelves, repairing flaking plaster, replacing shower grout, preparing furniture for painting, and helping with leaking windows — always working carefully and willingly. He also kept the house beautifully tidy, looked after the terrace, outside kitchen and plants, and quietly washed up after cooking without ever being asked. More than anything, Phillipe was simply a pleasure to have around — kind, capable, thoughtful, and dependable. Thank you for your hard work, your practical skills, and your positive spirit. Il a gardé la maison pendant la première semaine et s'est montré d'une fiabilité et d'un respect absolus. Il a aidé pour de nombreux travaux pratiques : réparer les stores, installer des étagères, refaire le plâtre qui s'écaillait, refaire les joints de la douche, préparer les meubles pour la peinture et réparer les fenêtres qui fuyaient – ​​toujours avec soin et bonne volonté. Il a également maintenu la maison impeccable, s'est occupé de la terrasse, de la cuisine d'été et des plantes, et a fait la vaisselle discrètement après avoir cuisiné, sans qu'on le lui demande. Francesca stayed in the hostel for three weeks managing our social media. It was one best three weeks our social media. Daily stories and weekly post with reels so nice. Because of her other people had amazing social media stories because she always tags other people. She is really funny and nice with everyone. I wish you could few more weeks there is lots of things learn from you as well. Thank you every much ✨

I had the loveliest time with Thuan and the staff! The property is so stunning with lots of places to hang out and rest. Biking around Trả Vinh was also very fun with beautiful scenery. The only issue I experienced was trouble sleeping because the accommodation is right next to a very loud karaoke place and chicken coop so there is pretty loud noise consistently throughout the night. I am a very light sleeper but I think just bringing some earplugs would solve the issue for most people :) I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked and stayed here!

What to write about Franziska and her friend Mira ? They were absolutely amazing girls We spent almost a month together at the farm and we enjoyed a lot this wonderful time Every morning they were on time at the yard to start their job They were always very happy and friendly Laughing, singing talking while they were working Both were the joy of life !! I recommend Franziska as excellent Workaway person Very efficient and easy going personality I missed you both lovely girls I hope to see you one day again

Aimee is a wonderful person, she created a fabulous place for the animals and we can highly recommend the place for everyone who loves animals :) We always had fun while our work, next to caring for the animals we did a lot of other projects like building a hay shelter or roofs, organizing the shop and more. We already knew much about caring for animals, but Aimee taught us a lot more, not only about caring, more about how to interact with special needs animals or how to handle sick animals. During our time off we had the opportunity to explore the area, Aimee always made it possible that we could go away for a day skiing or to town. She brought us to the next bus station or we could switch our days off or work earlier. We could also explore the area around by foot or on horseback. If you are into horses, you will find Rio as your challenge, he appreciates it if somebody works with him! We very much enjoyed all the fun evenings playing board and card games and will definitely miss the many laughs we had every day. We also spent Christmas with Aimee and it was such a wonderful experience! There was always a good atmosphere and you really feel like home! Thank you so much for all these wonderful and special memories we made!

I had the pleasure of staying at this hostel for 3 weeks as a social media volunteer and, honestly, I would have stayed longer if I didn’t have my return flight booked! It was my first solo trip with Workaway and I truly couldn’t have made a better choice. The hostel is welcoming and full of positive energy. I met amazing people: from Lucky, to the guests, to the other volunteers. They really become your family, and you will never be bored here! Lucky is great at organizing group activities and moments to share together, which allows you to always connect with others and create special memories. We even made fresh handmade pasta during several evenings… so much fun! Thank you for everything , I highly recommend this experience

I loved hosting Maria. Her enthusiasm encouraged me back into the water surfing after months out with a knee injury, but beyond that her enthusiasm to help whether in the garden or kitchen was a great help. My main needs at the time we’re laying soil moisture retention systems and planting soil erosion drought tolerant plants ahead of some predicted rain. That meant many wheelbarrows of woodchips and hours of planting small succulents. We also prepared an area for more intense syntropic planting using cardboard, straw, acacia trimmings and aged woodchips, erected wind barriers, and more. I enjoyed our varied conversations over dinner, cooking together and doing jobs, and loved the break from washing the dishes. Maria was flexible and accommodated my need to care for my mother before setting to tasks, usually making her own lunch as well as breakfast. I would welcome Maria back anytime and highly recommend her. I wish her all the best for her onward journey.

My experience at this Workaway was amazing. Pangiran's place is stunning and so peaceful. For a week I was only surrounded by nature and so much kindness. Not only did I learn a lot through the work that we did, I learnt so much by simply listening to Pangiran and Juane's stories. After a week of hard work, he took us to the jungle and taught us a lot about animals and plants which was so interesting ! Thank you so much for taking me in and sharing everything. This was truly one of the best experiences whilst traveling and I hope to be back in the future to help out !

My time with Amir was absolutely amazing. I didn't plan to come to Malaysia at first but after this experience I'm so happy that I did! His place is absolutely beautiful, very peaceful and quiet so ideal for people that want to get away from the city and see the rural parts of Malaysia. His project with nature conservation and protection is also really amazing and I hope that this project will continue to develop! I would really recommend this place to anyone, I was welcomed very warmly by Amir and you will feel right at home very quickly ! Chillllaaaaaaaa broooooo
