  • Description

    Description

We are a married couple (Peruvian & German) living on a small island near the Arctic Circle in Norway. Our home is located on Løkta, part of the beautiful Helgeland islands, with only about 120 inhabitants. The island is surrounded by fjords, forests and untouched nature.

We enjoy meaningful conversations, cultural exchange and a simple life close to nature. We are open-minded and curious about people from different backgrounds and we like to share our way of life with others. We speak Spanish and German fluently, and also very good English and Norwegian.

    Best regards C&M

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We love sharing experiences beyond mainstream tourism. Staying with us means becoming part of our daily life — cooking together, exchanging ideas and learning from each other. Here you can...
    - practice Spanish or German in everyday situations.
    - learn to prepare international dishes, especially Latin and European.
    - experience life in a small Norwegian island community.
    - join us for fishing trips in the fjord or relaxing by the nearby lake.
In summer, we often go fishing, pick berries and collect mushrooms (especially porcini). Also there is a beautiful lake just 300 meters from our house with a canoe and a fireplace area. Besides that there are some more "hidden gems" to explore on Løkta!

  • Help

    Help

We are mainly looking for help with small outdoor projects and general tasks around the house. Some tasks depend on the weather, so flexibility is important. We can also help with appropriate clothing for help and bad weather. Typical tasks here include:
    - light painting (mainly outside)
    - gardening and outdoor help

Basic practical skills are helpful, especially if you have handy skills - but they are not a must! A good eye for quality and motivation to help independently are always appreciated.

    Special note:
Couples are also welcome, and stays of up to 2 months (or longer) are possible.

    How to get here:
First, travel to Sandnessjøen. You can get there by car, public bus or even by plane (Airport Sandnessjøen-Stokka, SSJ). From there you can reach our island, Løkta, by taking the free ferry. The ferry takes about one hour.
Please let us know how you’re traveling! We can also pick you up by car at the ferry terminal.
