My experience at Lucie and Basile's house was stunning. First both of them are lovely, friendly, cool, humanist people with a wide vision upon the world. My tasks were different from painting to pruning o gardening to transplanting The region is lovely. Their house is not so far from Le Mont Saint Michel and Saint Malo Lucie has an excellent taste for decoration and bed is very comfy P'tit bout, the cat, is cuddling a lot and very easy to stay with Basile is an excellent cook, preparing meals with local products. Not necessary to mention his own made bread is delicious and tasty So enjoy your stay at Lucie and Basile's place. I'm sure you will get a lot of fun and joy

I had a nice opportunity to stay with Francis for four nights and volunteer at the school for two days through Workaway. I truly appreciated the kindness of the school staff, who warmly welcomed me, showed me around the village, and shared many insights about the local community. Through this experience, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of life in Kigungu, including the living conditions and the backgrounds of the children. It was a meaningful experience that encouraged me to reflect on their daily lives and environment. Kigungu is a very lovely village, and the people there are incredibly friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a Japanese Tenrikyo church in the village. The children at the school were absolutely adorable — we spent time drawing pictures, making origami, and playing together, which created many joyful memories. Although my stay was short due to my travel schedule, Francis was very flexible and accommodating, for which I am deeply grateful. Thank you very much for your kindness and support.

Thank you Danny, Tam and everyone else in your lovely family for the great time! We had the pleasure of spending a week with these guys and had a really great time on their unique and scenic property. Rules and tasks were clear and well-communicated and the hours expected of us were easily filled and enjoyable! :) On top of that, Tam and Danny are just super chill and friendly, so we felt welcome all the time. The kids are cuties, and we're sure we would've become even better friends had we stayed longer... ;) In our free time we had the possibility to explore the beautiful beautiful area. Thanks for making that possible, we wish you only the best!

This January Elise danced her way into our lives on her way around Tasmania. The first thing we noticed was her smile which was present during her entire visit. Elise fell in love with the power tools and employed her new found skills to create garden trellis to support our tomato crop. She planted pumpkins and put her hand to any task that needed doing. She was lovely with the animals and they felt her kindness. Elise mixed well with all our other visitors and initiated the first community ‘PlayStation dance’ game. We loved having Elise with us and wish her well on her travels - we hope to see her again.

This experience was much more than a volunteer job where you exchange work. For me, it was a home where I felt cared for and integrated into the community that supports this wonderful project. Ralf is an incredible person, full of energy and enthusiasm for creating and maintaining networks of artists and people. It was a huge pleasure to be with him, and I've made a new friend for life. His cats, Idylle and Leolo, are adorable, and it was also very nice to share activities with them. My work mainly involved communication and design tasks for the residency's activities, cooking, cleaning and tidying, decorating, and painting one of the rooms. Everything was organized well in advance and logistically, and the workspace is more than equipped to comfortably carry out any task. I really enjoyed my free time, was able to visit other cities, and go out with Ralf. If you don't have your own car, it's possible to coordinate some transportation with him; he's very helpful with organization. I will always want to return here; it was a pleasure to be there. A huge hug, my dear Ralf, see you soon!!

Some people arrive and hit the ground running. Pierre threw himself into all the activities that were happening at the farm when he arrived. He involved himself with great skill and a wonderful warm attitude. Pierre is friendly and kind as well as cheeky and funny. During his short time with us Pierre used his skills as a chef, creating some beautiful foods for all of us to enjoy. We thank him for all his effort in completing some big projects with us. We recommend him to other hosts and wish him luck in his journey around Australia.

This January we were lucky to have the opportunity to meet Laura - a ray of sunshine with a versatile set of skills up her sleeve! Laura was a hit with all the animals and was most often to be found snuggled up to one of them. She worked in the garden and in the house with enthusiasm and interest and interacted with all other visitors happily. It was a real pleasure to meet Laura and I hope we see her again 😊

Sometimes… You plant a seed and a rainbow grows from it . Amaury came to us to join his friends Florian and Alizee’ for the trip of a lifetime in Australia . He spent ten days with us before heading to Queensland and came back to us in Tasmania in July. Amaury joined in with all of the activities.. He turned his hand to carpentry with Emma creating gardens, chicken palaces and retaining walls . Amaury is responsible for one of the most amazing garlic crops imaginable. On many occasions Amaury helped me in my plumbing work . He is a wonderful cook… We miss his beautiful crepes and pastries , his smile, his beautiful nature, his care for animals and wonderful enthusiasm for dancing and singing. Amaury is the complete package. He was always a wonderful kind friend to all of the other Work Aways . He was a willing participant in The Ted Lasso tradition at the farm and introduced chess as a daily activity . In the nearly 7 months that be spent as part of our the farm family there was no friction, no huge ego… just Kindness and light. We miss our time with Amaury. A wonderful worker and we count him as a dear friend. I would recommend him to any work away host without hesitation. Our experiences and interactions with Amaury are a gift which we will cherish

We were so lucky to have Saikal as a volunteer. She came to help me paint a beautiful mural of the sunset over the Mekong River, and she did an amazing job. She has strong technical skills and followed the proper process carefully and professionally. She is hardworking, very focused, and truly committed to finishing what she started. Beyond her work, she is open-minded and friendly. We shared many meaningful conversations about family, work, and life. It felt natural and comfortable, like talking to an old friend. She also embraced everything here with an open heart — she happily ate all the meals I cooked and enjoyed the local dishes. I truly appreciate her contribution, not only for the beautiful painting she left on my wall, but also for the warm memories we created together. Saikal will always be welcome here again.

This was easily one of my fav workaway experiences in AUS! I stayed with Tinne and Pieter for 2 weeks in Nov 2025, and I can’t emphasise enough how generous they are to their helpers. I shared the farmhouse with 2 other workawayers, and we were so well looked after… all our meals and essentials were provided. My main tasks include weeding, gathering wood for wildfire prevention and raking leaves on sunny days; when it rained, I helped with ironing indoors. It was a very chill and rewarding experience, Pieter is a fantastic teacher, always provided clear guidance which allowed us to learn many new gardening skills with confidence. Our schedule was very well balanced, we worked in the mornings which left our afternoons free to relax on the beautiful property or to explore the surrounding area. Tinne and Pieter wool us to the local chocolate factory (yum) and a nearby sanctuary, which was a wonderful way to get to know the Yarra Valley. One of the highlights was learning from Pieter how to trace the wombats living by the creek, there is so much wildlife in the area, and you can see animals around quite often. We also felt truly welcomed as part of the family, we were invited to a lovely dinner on our first night and a big bonfire family dinner on our last day. The cultural exchange was authentic and heartwarming!!!!! Thank you again both for everything you gave us, wishing you all the very best for the next journey in your life <3! Ally :)

Stayed with Cam & Bill for the entire month of October 2025, and I’m so sorry for this late review! Looking back, I truly cherished my first month in AUS thanks to them! We spent such a wonderful time together, my tasks mainly involved cleaning the guesthouse and some gardening works, but I especially loved being able to use my creative side on a few art projects, using woodworking skills and recreating the font for the cottage. Can and Bill are incredibly generous, kind and well organized hosts. They were always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, from plenty of food to warm blankets. They also gave us amazing travel (and life) advice and even provided a car for us to explore the area during our days off, which was so thoughtful. My fav part was definitely the dinner time we shared every night. We cooked dishes from different countries, shared wine, exchanged stories and definitely laughed A LOT. It was a true cultural exchange and a beautiful way to appreciate the day. I also had the pleasure of meeting other travelers from all over the world, working and hanging out together created memories I will always treasure! A standout moment for me was when we all went fishing near the shore after work before sunset. We were lucky enough to see dolphins and whales passing by and jumping out of the water, it was MAGICAL!!!! Also I have to mention the lovely animals on the farm, I still miss them from time to time:) Thank you so much again Cam and Bill, for giving me such a wonderful start at Bawley, truly truly appreciate everything you both did for me! All the best!

Ed was an absolute pleasure to have as a workawayer. He's hard working, competent, solution focused and very easy to live with. We put his carpentry skills to good use! Thanks for all your hard work.

This is a very lovely young lady, sorry we didn't get to hear her sing, always with a smile as her response. She was not with us very long and we hope she comes back in the future and sings for us. We just loved her being here with us. Gina and Jose

Amélie and I had our first ever volunteering experience with Thuan and it was wonderful ✨ ! Thuan owns a cute homestay and cozy outdoor coffee shop (perfect for your afternoon in the shades of a palmtree) in the Mekong Delta. She is so lovely and interesting, even if she is often very busy we enjoyed very much our evening chats together. All the other staff members are kind and funny and it was cool to share together lunch and dinner. Thank you Lam for all the good meals you cooked for us !! Concerning our job it was mainly to clean kitchen and sweep dead leaves in the morning. We also had the opportunity to change tasks from time to time depending of the needs and what you can do (for us it was painting !). In the sunday morning an english exchange was organized and allowed us to chat with other vietnamese. During our time off we could explore this lovely region with bikes notably to visit khmer temples ! Thank you again Thuan for those very very nice three weeks, we wish you the best 😊

The moment I arrived I felt home with Johanna, Benjamin and the kids. They are an amazing family, kind, open and funny. It was a joy to help them build their dream on this beautiful piece of land. The work was great and the food was amazing. I slept in my van and had all I could wish for. I'll miss these people!

Staying with Leela was truly magical and deeply transformative. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed not just into her home, but into a space of genuine care, presence, and kindness. She shared her yoga practice with me and supported my spiritual journey in countless ways, often placing my inner growth and wellbeing above her own housework. That level of selflessness is rare and deeply touching. Leela has a beautiful way of holding space. She is funny, wise, kind, and loving, and being around her feels both grounding and uplifting. Our conversations, shared practices, and simple moments together helped me reconnect with myself in ways I didn’t even know I needed. This past week was honestly one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I’m leaving not just with new skills and insights, but with a deeper sense of peace and a friend for life. I’m incredibly grateful for the time we shared, and I would recommend staying with Leela to anyone seeking not just a Workaway, but a truly heartfelt and soulful exchange.

My time at the ashram was a full embodiment of what it means to live a yogic lifestyle. I truly was given structure, routine, accountability, and teamwork. As a yoga teacher who has always lived in the United States, this was a perfect place to experience South Indian history and culture while also learning more about myself. I felt involved in the community, creating meaningful content about what I was learning here. I made friendships as well as family at the ashram. I thank the Sivananda family for allowing volunteers. This was the perfect first Workaway experience. My 11 weeks extended easily to 14 weeks.

Recently, I stayed at Hilary and Tim's home for 2 1/2 weeks looking after their pets and home on Bowen Island. The natural surroundings were so gorgeous. How lucky to have the woods with creek bordering their backyard! It was lovely having the affectionate dog Monet and friendly cats Blue and Puss Puss as my furry companions whilst there. I got to test my hiking skills on some lovely trails with an understanding Monet waiting patiently when it took me longer to traverse steep inclines. My private accommodation was very comfortable and complete with my own bathroom with a nice deep tub. There was also access to a car to drive on island to explore a little more and that was much appreciated! I even met friendly community-minded neighbours across the way who invited me to tea and treated me to a special cupcake when it was my birthday. All in all, I had a very good stay at Hilary and Tim's and thank them for being my first Workaway experience!
