River was such a pleasure to have here. He is helpful, easygoing, responsible, and very easy to live and work with. He naturally became part of daily life and was always willing to help with anything. He is also an amazing cook (his pizza night made everyone happy!) and he brought great music, good humor, and a really nice energy to the place. River, you are a lovely person, and any host would be lucky to have you! You will always be welcome here :)

Lottie is an extremely serious and committed worker, really nice to have her around and she was also of great help! She approaches every task with focus, responsibility and a strong work ethic. She is also very reliable: always on time, consistent, and trustworthy. Beyond the work itself, she brings a healthy and balanced attitude, takes good care of herself, the environment and the people around her, and contributes positively to daily life.

My trip to France was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I’m truly grateful to Simon for his amazing hospitality — he’s a genuinely kind and great person who made me feel at home from day one. Through staying with Simon, I also met incredible friends that I really care about and love. They supported me, helped me, and made this experience unforgettable. I honestly recommend staying with Simon without any hesitation. Even though he was my first host, he’ll always be my number one.

I was warmly welcomed by the family when they picked me up from the city. Being my first workaway experience, I was very happy to have stayed with Anja, Charlie and their daughter Lea. The place they created is a wonderful and beautiful home with lots of fruit trees surrounded by mountains with few other fincas. The accommodation in the cozy campers was very pleasant and the kitchen offers everything you need. I really enjoyed cutting the chirimoyo trees, other tasks were general maintenance like weeding, cleaning and some small reparations caused by the heavy storm. Thank you for that wonderful stay!

Claudia was an absolute delight to host and that is no lie. She is so cheerful and helpful I soon was trying to think of ways to keep her for longer than the 3 weeks she was here for. I was particularly grateful for the fact that no matter what was asked of her she was always happy to give it a go. As she has said. She trimmed back the olive trees learning the task quickly and was able to show other volunteers how it was done in very good order. The weather was not always kind to us but as she said she happily mucked in and helped us in our house and our sons. For that she is a star! I genuinely didn't want her to leave and hope one day she will return.

Carly was a great guest and a genuinely easy person to host. She’s thoughtful, communicative, and brings a calm, grounded presence. We had many interesting conversations, and I appreciated the new perspectives she shared — it made the cultural exchange feel real and meaningful. She’s very self-directed and proactive, often coming up with helpful things to do on her own that actually made sense. I also really valued how clearly she communicated what she was interested in helping with, and what she wasn’t — that kind of honesty makes shared living and collaboration work smoothly. Carly took good care of the place, and we enjoyed cooking together and trying different meals, which added a lot to the experience. I’d happily host her again and can confidently recommend her to other hosts.

Staying with Lars was as relaxed as it gets. Don’t let his quiet nature fool you (we had many lively chats & laughs!). He’s generous, respectful and easy going. I was new to WorkAway and eager to earn my keep, which really wasn’t necessary. He was laid back and had me contribute at my leisure doing what I most enjoyed. We ventured to the beach nearly daily on his e-scooters, which was always an exciting adventure! He welcomed my food suggestions and we always ate healthy, hearty meals. It was especially nice to be there in the summer heat where his off-grid home allowed for a constant comfortable indoor climate. His place is conveniently located, but completely nestled in nature making for a lovely little sanctuary away from the hustle with stunning forest and sea views, and beautiful trails to explore nearby. He accommodated me at the last minute and always made me feel safe and comfortable as a solo female traveler. Overall, Lars’ homestead was a lovely spot to rest and relax in a peaceful place with an equally enjoyable mix of cultural exchange and summer fun!

Alberto is an awesome person in every single way. From day 1 we felt welcome and confortable with him and on his farm, so it is no surprise we had an incredible experience during our 2 weeks here. It is very easy to communicate with Alberto. We had deep talks and many nights of pure laughter. His sense of humour was spot on a match for ours. However, after two weeks, we left with an addiction to biscuits (especially Milka Biscuits) and tiramisu. It is a small price to pay for staying with Alberto. The permaculture project is very interesting and there are always new things to do and learn on the farm. This is a very peaceful and beautiful place to be, where one has the privilege of eating meals with very savoury ingredients that grow 5 meters away ! Having so many animals around makes it very interactive and we got to bond with them (especially Acab the Good Boiii).

I spent 6 weeks in Santa Bárbara starting in December 2025, the place felt like an absolute home to me and I was lucky to have found it! Tommy and Lotta were such generous and warm hosts from the beginning, even inviting me to spend Christmas with their family. They are truly wonderful, open minded people living a lifestyle that’s interesting to learn about - splitting their time between two very different countries, owning a small business, working remotely…they have a lot on their plates but they seem to really enjoy it and those are the people I’m always looking to get to know in my travels :) people living authentically who want to share their experience! As far as the work, it’s quite a relaxed structure which I think could be challenging for those new to volunteering or not very self motivated but I overall enjoyed creating my own structure and there are always a variety of things to help with around the campground. Tommy and Lotta are also always trying to give you tasks you will enjoy, which is so nice. One of Tommy’s favorite phrases is “no plan, no stress” which was challenging sometimes with my sort of type A personality but as I think my friend Laura also said in her review, his laid back positive attitude is infectious and I learned a lot about going with the flow from him. I spent most of my time working in their food bus - serving breakfasts and completos to guests and helping campers with questions or small requests. This was really pleasant because the campers who come there also feel the positive vibe of the place and many come to stay just one night and end up there for a week, I was happy to meet a lot of cool tourists of Patagonia as part of the experience too. If it calls to you I totally recommend a stay in Santa Barbara and thank you for an amazing six weeks, guys! So many sweet memories; eating huge chunks of watermelon together, seeing dolphins so regularly it became normal - then also up super close on a nature boat, all the beautiful treks, sunsets on the beach, many conversations with Tommy about how to solve the world’s problems over our morning cappuccinos, many delicious pieces of Lotta’s küchen and exchanging baking tricks/recipes, games of Carcassone and Black Peter with Bruno and the gang, watching the neighbor’s flock of sheep navigate the campground in the morning and at night, the start of hosting guests in the glamping tent, Tommy and Lotta’s wonderful local friends, all the barbecues and oxtail soups and cold beers…. Muchísimas gracias por todo!! Vielen Dank! Wishing you guys all the best for high season! :) Until we meet again... proudly Lotta's stunt double, Ava

It was a pleasure having Aurora live and work in our home for four weeks. I can enthusiastically recommend her as a workawayer! She was diligent in her work, always on time, communicated well, was friendly and personable, and was very independent, arranging her travel and days off with minimal help from us.

I spent three wonderful weeks here, and I still think fondly of my time at the monastery. Even with my limited French, everyone welcomed me with such warmth and kindness. The work was well-organized, and the tasks were varied and fulfilling. The meals were delicious, and I enjoyed the time we spent eating together. I also appreciated having my own private room and walking along the beautiful paths nearby. I’m especially grateful to the sisters who took turns translating for me, and to everyone for the wonderful work and conversations we shared. Thank you so much for everything :) I wish I could have stayed longer and would love to visit again. If you’re a Workawayer looking for a special place, I highly recommend staying here!

Laura was working with us for nearly a week . She did a excellent job . The weather was cold and wet but Laura did not mind to get wet hard working picking cacao fruits. She also help with processing the cacao , stamping the bags , grounding the seeds and more ..... Helping Nelia cleaning the rooms was a other big help for us. Just a excellent volunteer with lots of positive vibe. We wish her all the best for her long journey.

After 1 month in the incredible (and certainly unforgettable) Ali’s forest i can only recommand this workaway to everyone who want to be part of the nature and discover a unique place and a unique person 🌸 I mean i feel really gratefull for this inspiring experience ! We also had the perfect team for the perfect days of work, and living together was just smooth, peaceful and full of laught and joy ! I loved that in the forest everyone is accepted with is own specificity and différence, it gives the perfect atmosphere and energy 🌞 I am leaving caring a lot of beautiful memories and learning, I am sure that I will remember the generosity and the philosophy of Ali, all the knowledge sharing of this fabulous dream he is building, the interested and fun talks, so again : çok teşekkürler for everything Ali ! Tamam, to finish i think i will just add some ginger : don’t forget than even when life is bullshit you can make some compost of it, so at the end : Life is good ✨

I cannot begin to express my appreciation and gratitude for this experience. Staying here has been wonderful - it was perfect for me at this stage of my life - as ideal as possible. If you love dogs - this is perfect. If you love getting your hands in the dirt - this is perfect. If you love real conversations with real people - this is PERFECT. This one is on the "I will never forget this family, their open arms, their open hearts." Writing this is honestly making me tear up. Come here - you'll never regret it.

Where to even begin with this wonderful place! I stayed with Josie and Barry for just under 3 weeks, and I had an amazing experience. I felt apart of the family by the end. The work was really fair and varied day to day which I liked a lot - if the weather was good we would be pruning olive trees outside or if the weather wasn't so good we would be cleaning, helping with errands or helping with their son (Christopher) house in the cutest village you have ever seen! We would start work at 8am after having breakfast and then we would work through till lunchtime (often with a tea and biscuit break around 10am thanks to Barry). Then we were free to do our own thing in the afternoons, where I usually chilled on the roof or went hiking with other volunteers. The location is just stunning, every direction there is mountains and the sunrises/sunsets are sensational especially from their roof. It is a short walk to the closest town where there is a lovely river to sit near. The food is soo good! I got to try so many new dishes and they were so delicious and I never left the table hungry. I even learnt how to make Paella 🥘 Josie and Barry are great hosts and always want to make sure you are comfortable and well fed. I had my own room which was such a luxury and was always nice and toasty at night with the fire. Thank you Josie for sharing your love for trance music and thankyou Barry for all the lovely cups of coffee, I will never forget you guys! If you are contemplating wether to come here, do it. You won't regret it 😊
