Alejandra is an amazing soul — so kind, adventurous, and genuinely wonderful to talk to. She has a great heart and a very positive energy. I had an incredible time at her house. It was truly a pleasure to assist her with her glass art, which I am now a big fan of. I will continue to support her even after leaving Gran Canaria, because she is a beautiful soul and her empathy creates real connection and closeness. The lodging and food were excellent. I loved Telde and enjoyed getting around everywhere by bus. On our last day, we went on a visit together to Mogan and had so much fun. Telde is a small city but I liked it a lot. People very friendly. Thank you for everything. Blessings. ✨

Here’s a warmer, more welcoming, and clearly **recommendatory** rewrite: --- Eli spent three weeks with us, and during that time he was an enormous help, especially with tasks that would have been difficult for us to manage alone. One memorable example was tackling a very tall ladder to cut back ivy that had clearly set its sights on the sky! I had never met anyone so at ease working at height, or so knowledgeable and careful when it came to ladder safety. Eli was always happy to help and did everything with a smile. We shared many enjoyable moments together—listening to music, singing along, and having long, interesting conversations about general topics and current affairs. It was a real pleasure to spend time with someone so well-informed and engaging. As Eli was visiting from the United States, I was delighted to take him on a few special outings to show him the beauty of south-west France. Those trips were a joy, and his curiosity and enthusiasm made the experience even more rewarding. Eli was a wonderful presence to have around, and I would warmly recommend him to anyone lucky enough to host him.

It will be a unforgettable experience for me! I am grateful to have met Hurly early in my trip. Hurly is a very experienced traveler, and now as a host, he has taught me a lot about being a traveler and gave me a lot of advice. Also, he is very welcoming and kind person to have deep conversation for everything, literally everything. I am happy to stay here and having a exchange during my trip! And I hope everything is going well with Hurly and his dad.

Fue una muy buena experiencia 🌳🏞️ English: My experience at Tomas' house was excellent. I stayed a bit more than a week and I wish I could've stayed a bit longer. The place is amazing, very calm, perfect for those who wanna disconnect and enjoy nature ! Tomas is a very nice and generous person, always available to talk, exchange, make plans. Thanks to him I got to discover a lot of the area in very few days. We did trekking, saw lakes, waterfalls, rivers, volcanoes, sunrise and sunsets... Amazing stuff. The tasks to be done at the house aren't hard, and always well explained by Tomás. For example I had to cut grass, clean and rearrange piles of wood, making a wooden fence, and basic care of the house and Mati when Tomas wasn't there. I strongly recommend this host ! It was really nice staying here

Orion is kind, thoughtful, a hard worker, competent, and generally helpful. He’s a good driver, as well as a good cook. He likes to do dishes, finding a contemplative. And he also plays the ukulele very nicely. Orion was here for about six months. I would welcome him back anytime.

My time will not be forgotten soon. I spent over a month with Clarissa and Darrell helping with various projects around the property, maintenance, designing and building new things, cleaning; however everything had one thing in common, the completion of a task resulted in a better guest experience for myself the next day. In this way, you get out of the experience what you put into it and so naturally I enjoyed the fruit of my labors. With many full day adventures to beautiful beaches and towns, I think I saw a lot and I am exited where Darrell and Clarissa will take this project in the future.

Charlotte was absolutely amazing. From the very first day she arrived, we felt an instant connection with her. She supported us in so many ways helping the kids and boys improve their English, cleaning the land of plastic, and creating beautiful decorations for our café with so much care and creativity. She became part of our home, not just a volunteer. We would welcome her back anytime with open arms. We truly wish her all the best in her future travels and the journeys life has waiting for her. 🤍🌍

I enjoyed 5 wonderful months that I wouldn't trade for the world. Melanie exceeded my expectations in every way as a host and a human! She goes above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable, and she sees her guests as extensions of the family as opposed to strictly workers. She frequently had us up for Yahtzee, drum circles, and family style dinners. Melanie provides a lot of opportunities to engage with the people, land, and customs of Hawaii that I strongly urge you to take advantage of. Beyond her generous provisions, Melanie is exceptionally patient, compassionate, wise, open-minded, and kind. I had an incredible time during my stay in Hana, but even after I left, I got to keep a great friend and a role model in Melanie. Melanie can be flexible with the type of work you do based on your preferences, but she does have clear expectations that you complete the hours that she requires. The work isn't always easy, but it is always rewarding and often culturally relevant. If you're expecting a Hawaiian vacation with a couple hours of easy labor, you'll likely have a hard time. The more you put in , the more you will get out! The work might be physically and possibly mentally challenging at times, but that's what makes this place so conducive to personal growth. There's no place better to feel close to the land than Melanie's farm. You may rise and set with the sun, eat fruit off the farm all day, and can hear the waves crashing all night. However, this is a rugged experience and there will be trials related to that; you will see bugs and spiders larger than you thought possible and they will be all up in your business when you're trying to relax. It will start pouring rain right after you put your clothes out on the line. The roosters will wake you up at completely inappropriate hours of the night. Your clothes might never fully dry. But you will look back on all of it so fondly and laugh if you keep your eyes open to how beautiful everything else is. My stay undeniably changed the course of my life and my priorities for the better, and if you go into this experience with an open mind and heart, then it could change yours too. A hui hou, Melanie! Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.

This was the most magical place ive ever been! Loana and the rest of the family were very warm, kind and funny persons. I planned to stay for twe weeks, but i ended up staying a month and to be honest I could stay here my whole life. Every evening again I thought "wow that was was another amazing magical day" and the life here never gets boring. I learned many thing about myself, and I got the chance to grow in my passions such as making art and music. I made a wall painting and i gave a concert and both memories are unforgetable for me! The work was really chil just as the town, its a peacefull surf town but theres always happening something. I feel like lobitos is a hotspot of creative and assertive people who all start their amazing projects, like homemade peanutbutter and poncho's made by locals... Really I had the best time ever, im really gonna miss this place and the people but it will stay in my heart for ever ♥️ Thank you so much Loana, Johny, Jose, Loanita, Alana and Ariana, I love you all and I hope to see you soon xxx

I really enjoyed my stay at Saroj's farm. Saroj and his mother were very welcoming, and I felt at home there. They were also very flexible about my arrival, as I got sick and had to come a few days later. My main task was taking care of the goats while they were feeding themselves. There were even a few baby goats, which was amazing. Thank you very much - I would love to come back and stay for a longer time in the future 🙏

Though I only spent one month with Dora, Ben, Thiago, and Kai, I really became fond of this family. Dora is kind, fun, and gives her all to her kids, even when she has nothing left to give. It was so inspiring to watch how she talks with the kids, the patience she has with them, and the ever-present compassion, grace, and love in her actions. I wholeheartedly recommend Dora and her family to any Workawayers considering them. I know I always have a friend in Norway and they know they always have a friend in America!

Mike and Lianne are a dinamic and energetic couple. I had a construction idea for their volunteering time and they made it so as I wanted. This lovely couple work good together like a team. They enjoyed the nature surroundings like children exploring the world. Thanks for your visit and wish you a good journey.

Samira joined us at exactly the right moment, around Christmas, when volunteers are especially hard to find. She is incredibly capable, engaged, friendly, and responsible, someone you can fully trust. You’re always welcome back! Thank you so much for your help!!

mark did his work with great dedication and was honest in his work. Being friendly with everyone, giving consistent answers, understanding things perfectly, and giving his 100% – these are all qualities of a true professional. We really appreciated your behavior, mark. Please come back whenever you have time; you are always welcome, brother. You are also welcome to join us on our next project! :)

I had the pleasure of house-sitting for Miguel and Carla while they were away, looking after their two dogs and cat. It was a joy to go for walks with these two lovely animals and admire the mountains, the winding river, and listen to the cowbells in the early morning; the place is truly poetic. The same goes for this large family, with whom the time I spent was short but precious and assured me that they are people worth sharing life with ! The neighbors I had the luck to met were also extremely welcoming. Would recommend this place in an heartbeat :)

Both Kathy and Elly were great hosts, with a down to earth can do attitude. I learnt a new philosophy of life which can be encapsulated in the english expression "don't faff" :D Kathy's food is incredibly good and diverse. I got the chance to live with two other volunteers in a house in the village, and we had a lot of fun together. The work was interesting and clear. We did some construction, had some challenges, were invited to think along. I also joined the line dancing one evening a week, which was great fun. It's a very interesting and open minded family, very adventurous, with lots of stories. They show you through their behavior and stories that many journeys out of the beaten paths are possible. Don't be afraid, have common sense and you'll figure it out.

We spent almost three weeks with Paco and Lexa. They are both wonderful people who are always interested in your well being and make the effort with providing everything you need or ask for no matter how busy they are. We shared many laughters and were welcomed with open arms at their truly special piece of land. The project is amazing and we met many very interesting and nice people. Sometimes friends come over or new workawayers arrive. All of them make the place truly uniquie and amazing. We had a fixed work schedule which was nice. Sometimes we worked with Paco, sometimes alone but never without proper instructions and there was always someone a phone call away if you needed help. We would definitely recommend visiting! Hopefully we will come by again :)

I had a great time helping here. The staff was very helpful, and the tasks and schedule were clear from the beginning. The place is very clean with good amenities. We also went for a few group hikes and caught some beautiful sunrises together. Most of the staff and volunteers are Chinese Malaysian, so I learned a lot about their culture and even picked up a few words. Overall a great experience, highly recommended, especially if you like hiking and want a break from the heat for a while!
