It was a wonderful experience staying with Carole and Fernando and their kids. They were so kind, welcoming, and genuinely interested in getting to know me. The work in the garden was fun and interesting as it is very diverse with lots of different fruits, vegetables, etc. They were very flexible and gave me autonomy to work when I wanted so I could make room for the things in Sintra/Lisbon that I wanted to go see. The accommodation was more than enough, as I had my own kitchen, room, and bathroom. We shared some meals, conversation, and I played with their kids a little. Beautiful family and would love to stay with them again!

Par où commencer...Ce fut une expérience INCROYABLE de travailler avec Martín ainsi qu'avec l’ensemble des volontaires et les personnes de la communauté. C’est une cause profondément belle et porteuse de sens pour laquelle nous travaillons ici, et pour cette raison nous recommandons sincèrement à toute personne de venir s’y engager. Ricardo y Benedetta es una pareja perfecta, siempre muy atento a todo! Nos ayudaron mucho en nuestro campo en el proceso de proteccion de nuestras plantas, asi mismo, ellos son muy buenos cocineros. Hallöchen ihr Lieben, vielen Dank, dass ihr mich so herzlich bei euch aufgenommen habt. Ich habe mich von der ersten Sekunde an extrem wohl bei euch gefühlt. Die Arbeit im Café hat mit super viel spaß gemacht und ich hoffe, dass man sich bald wieder sieht. Leider befürchte ich, dass ich nie wieder in ein Café gehen kann, ohne mir zu denken, dass es bei euch besser schmecken würde, hehe.

Thank you for your hospitality, your patience, and all the laughter we shared. Your campsite is an absolutely wonderful place and I felt very welcomed and at home there. I stayed with Sylvio this summer, and it was the best choice! He is a very kind, sweet and open man. He taught me everyrhing about Palermo and cooked me the most amazing meals. He also took us swimming every morning, which was wonderful. The work was fun, and he let's you help out according to your liking. I would reccommend Sylvio's place 100%!!

It was a pleasure to welcome Alla, a very enthusiastic person, always interested to discover new things. We had great exchanges and discussions. Very respectful of the house rules and the environment, she has contributed very positively to the ongoing maintenance of the garden and house.

I’m really grateful for this experience and really enjoyed the 5 weeks I spent on Ilha Grande! The work is meaningful and fun, the staff here are always helpful and responsive, and of course the island is absolutely incredible. This Workaway is perfect for anyone who loves nature and is ready to put in the effort to protect it. If you have the possibility, I highly recommend staying at least 2-3 weeks in order to join a mission to the natural reserve!!

Rosemary is the best host and a genuinely wonderful human. I’m very grateful for the time I spent with her and her family, and I truly hope to come back. Thank you so much Rosie.

cool 🐵, curious and fun to play with...

I stayed for approximately two months (July–August 2025), and it was an incredible and very rewarding experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. From the very first minute I arrived at the lodge, I felt very comfortable with the atmosphere—calm, friendly, and full of mutual respect. Wayne and Barb are incredibly kind and easy-going people who take the time to explain everything clearly from day one. I truly had an amazing time. I had a lot of fun, learned so much, and gained many valuable experiences and lessons that will stay with me throughout my life. The place itself is beautiful—a real paradise. If you love nature, peace ,chilling , and fishing, this is definitely the place for you. If you are an active person who enjoys always having something to do and learning new skills, you will feel right at home here. If you enjoy fishing, you will have plenty of opportunities to do so here. It was a great pleasure working for you, and I truly hope that this place continues for many more seasons to come.

Elisabetta and Riccardo were such a joy to host. They are excellent workawayers. They took great care of the animals and the house. They are kind, considerate, thoughtful, and completely trustworthy. In addition to the daily animal jobs, Riccardo was very comfortable doing gardening jobs and cooked great meals. Elisabetta was excellent in cleaning and tidying. They are very pleasant company. We had many great conversations and shared meaningful moments together. I really look forward to hosting them again.

Such an amazing experience to work in Regina’s place. You don’t need to have previous experience from horses only motivation and eager to learn! We were working in small team of other volunteers from all around the world. The work included cleaning horse boxes and since it was already cold weather we helped Regina with firewood. If you love horses and want to have a peaceful time in the countryside this is for you. Regina is having such a big heart and you really feel welcomed to the ranch. The accommodation was really nice as well with big kitchen, pretty new toilets and showers, big common place with fireplace and your own room. Highly recommended! ❤️

Estuvieron en nuestra fundacion una semana, pero eso no fue motivo para no compartir y vivir la experiencia de participar de nuestro proyecto... Simplemente estas dos mujeres son increibles... Ayudaron y participaron en todas las actividades, ademas de compartir con el grupo de voluntarios... Estamos felices de todo lo vivido.. Infinitas gracias Lisa y domi

My 2 weeks in Don Nangloy with Phonephet and the rest of the family were amazing. They're great people, very kind and social, the kids Emma and Vera are the sweetest and I enjoyed every second playing with them and the kids of the village. I swam with their pet buffalo Petunia and we got to see the other Islands as well. I got to meet so many amazing people, not only Lao, but also all the other volounteers and guests, the mood around this place is special, I bonded so much with each one of them and I feel very grateful for the experience. We spent Christmas all together, Phonephet gave us a free day to celebrate and we cooked pancakes for everyone. Puk (Phonephet's wife) is sweet and funny and she's also an excellent cooker! I would totally recommend this experience and, if I'll have the chance, I'll go back there for sure!

Hermosa familia.... Estuvieron compartiendo en nuestra fundacion y pasamos momentos increibles. Alice y los niños tienen un corezon gigante.. Participaron en todas las actividades y se integraron al equipo desde el primer dia. Estamos felices de tener la posibilidad de conocerlos.. Gracias por todo y hasta pronto

This was my first work away, and I'm really glad I chose this place. They carefully explained the work and why it was necessary, so I was able to work while gaining new knowledge. When I told them I was interested in permaculture, they told me about various resources and their experiences. Also, my life during my stay was directly connected to permaculture, and my experiences of using fragrance-free household products and only washing clothes made from natural fibers made me realize things I wouldn't notice in my everyday life. I learned a lot that I want to use in my future life. I'm truly grateful to them both.

I spent three months at the auberge with Sara and Alessandro, the owners: two lovely and interesting people. The place, the village and the area all around are great. They made me feel at home since the first day and they have always been very clear flexible about the tasks and work time. I am looking forward to go back there asap. :)

Silvie es de esas personas que hacen que todo este super bien.... Tiene un corazon gigante, su empatia, solidaridad y energia se destacan en ella.. Todo el tiempo que compartimos fue muy bonito y va a quedar en nuestros recuerdos por siempre. Ella es totalmente recomendable para participar de un voluntariado.
