There are simply not enough words in neither English nor Italian to describe how wonderful this experience was. The land is so gorgeous and full of life, the home has such a warm energy and spirit, the animals are absolutely lovely and funny and Giuseppe is the kindest, most peaceful caretaker host of all. This was my first workaway so I didn't know what to expect, and I'm very glad that I went in totally open-minded, because the experience was life-changing. Peppe is wise and knows that the work is not a hurry, and so we took our time tending to the land and property, while immersing in each others cultures and enjoying quality time together. If you're looking for a place to slow your life down, and share some peace, healthy food and positive energy, this is the place for you. also, getting to meet friends and family of Peppe was a major highlight of my time here. that is why I travel. Grazie mille for everything Peppe and I hope our paths cross again someday soon!

Tsukasa and Hana are two wonderful individuals who are always smiling and ready to assist with any task. I had a truly great experience with them, and they felt more like family than hosts. They kindly supported me in improving my Japanese language skills, which I greatly appreciate. They were also very helpful with cooking and gardening activities. Additionally, we had the opportunity to visit many beautiful places together, which made their stay even more memorable. I highly recommend them to any Workawayer hosts and sincerely wish both of them all the best in the future.

Not thinking at all about all the fabric things that need to be fixed, we were so amazed how Stephanie now extended our possessions of socks within just a few days:-) all holes gone, all spots on the living room furniture and car seat vanished! Besides that no worries if you need a cook, stitcher, ironer, gardener..Stephanie is combining all:-).We also enjoyed the fact that she is always working forsighted and a pleasure to have around. Highly recommended!

Dominika has stayed with me in Spain twice already- first for a month of house sitting last year and recently for a week helping me with errands while I settled into my new flat, and honestly, both times she was amazing to have around. She is incredibly hardworking and proactive, always noticing what needs to be done without being asked, and approaching everything with care and attention. What really stands out also is how open, mature, and easy she is to be around. I felt completely comfortable and at ease having her stay, and it really felt like having someone I could fully trust with my space. I’m very grateful for all her help and I can wholeheartedly recommend Dominika to any host. You will definitely be very happy to have her help - she brings not only reliability but also a really lovely presence and energy to your home.❤️

I had a wonderful time here! Pablo and Marcela are beautiful, genuine people who welcomed me with open arms! I stayed in low season so there were not many guests but plenty to do to upkeep the hostel and it's tranquil gardens. Aside from the great surf breaks there's lots of adventuring to do in the area and increíble beaches to see. I would highly recommend volunteering here for the people you meet and the friends you will inevitably keep! I hope one day I can come back to visit :) p.s. You will fall in love with the local dogs - especially Azul! 🥹

Working and living at the Sanctuary was a marvellous and live changing experience! A queer haven, an anarchist dream space <3 Everything super well organised, community and communication full of love and clarity - and the cutest and quirkiest animal friends! All the longtermers really pour their heart and soul into this place and it shows! I have learned so much about taking care of and living with animals and feel truly inspired. Plus, I've met some wonderful people - connections I'll cherish forever. THANK YOU everyone! I hope I'll be able to come back :)

It was more of connecting and not only hosting this young, energetic ,organic and friendly young lady from France, Camille works not only hard but smart, really organized and fast learning, over half of my vanilla in the farm was pollinated by her because she was dedicated and careful (vanilla need an intensive care and attention during pollination) and so she was on time and reliable during this time. She is easy going and open-minded , with curious and genuinely interested in learning and connect. We especially loved her passion in cooking and baking which makes her helpful and reliable at home. Staying with Gina was a brilliant experience that I will never forget. Her place is very comfortable and welcoming and the bedroom is spacious. Gina is a beautiful person with a kind heart. She's very knowledgeable about music and loves to teach and share. She's chilled and easy to be around and she's great company - we had some really good conversations and shared a lot of laughs. I'm a beginner in learning Spanish and she's very supportive and patient with this. Her partner, Mizael, spent a lot of time with us too and he's equally as kind, fun, and helpful with language learning. Gina introduced me to some of her friends in the area, who are also lovely and welcoming. The work is not hard and she doesn't ask for much - whilst I was there, I helped her to build her Workaway profile and I recorded some of her performances, which was a fun task because I got to see more places in Merida and the variation in the music scene and night life. I also mentioned that I wanted to go to the zoo and Gina very kindly took me there. Her pets are the cutest and I miss them already. I thoroughly enjoyed staying with Gina and I would recommend her as a host.

I stayed with Conny in Balapitiya for around 2 weeks and had a really good time. It was lovely to be around the cats and dogs 24/7 and I fell in love with them immediately. The work is easy and when you're more volunteers in the house you can split it so it's not a lot of work per day. When you love animals and you are ok to live with them and you like to spend time in a local & calm area this place is for you.

My stay with Salome and her family was simply amazing! I helped the workers in the fields from 9AM until 2PM and learned so much from them! We always had a good time - they tried teaching me Swahili, we made lots of jokes and they often joined me when the work was done as well. So grateful for all these nice encounters! The people I met at this place quickly felt like family and friends and are dearly missed now. Additionally the children were such kindhearted souls - I visited them at the hostel in the evenings from time to time and the whole project is simply amazing! The goodness in all these people truly warmed my heart. Other Masai often came by as well so I was able to engage with so many firendly people! And let's not forget about Salome and Matthew! Their hospitality really stood out - They did everything they could to make me feel at home and welcomed me with open arms. Furthermore the chance to visit and sleep at a Masai Boma was a once in a lifetime experience that I will forever be grateful for as well as for the visits to the Masai market and Wasso. Every day was filled with experiences, cultural exchange and joy:) In the mornings I was able to milk the cows which was such a nice opportunity to learn about their way of living and it was not easy but so much fun! So many nice conversations, shared laughter, dancing sessions in the kitchen and cabbage plantations later I can only look back with gratitude. Thank you all for everything and see u again someday! Miss you all so much❤️

In January, our house sitter stayed in our home for a month while we were on holiday. She arrived about a week after we had already left, so we prepared everything in advance by sending her a few videos explaining the daily routines. From the very beginning, everything worked out perfectly. She took such loving and responsible care of our animals. The chickens, the rabbits, and our cat were all doing wonderfully, and she kept us regularly updated, which gave us great peace of mind. Knowing that our home and animals were in such good hands allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our time away. When we returned during the night before her departure, everything was clean, tidy, and exactly as we had left it. The next morning, I had the chance to share breakfast with her before she left. It was really lovely to meet her in person. She is a very kind, calm and pleasant person, and I immediately felt comfortable around her. I can easily imagine sharing our home with her even while we are present — she is someone you would genuinely enjoy having as a guest. We would be very happy if our paths cross again and it works out for her to look after our home and animals during a future trip. With such a reliable and warm house sitter, you can truly travel with complete peace of mind.

I had a wonderful month at Tina's and I'm grateful for her hospitality. I felt at ease quickly, and the accommodations were exactly as advertised. There were several of us, and I was able to have a room all to myself, which was lovely. During my stay, I diligently took care of the grounds and watered the large garden, as well as looking after the chickens. I was also very involved in preparing the tiles around the pool, an interesting project that required teamwork. It was rewarding to contribute directly to the progress of the work. There were six of us volunteers from different countries, which made the experience enriching on a personal level. The shared lunches were a truly convivial occasion: everyone took turns cooking, and the food was delicious. The bicycles provided allowed us to reach the beach in about 25 minutes via a pleasant path, which was a real bonus for enjoying our free time. Thank you Tina for this experience and these exchanges, I wish you all the best with the next volunteers!

You’ll find an exceptional level of organization and communication with a team of dedicated local managers : hardworking staff who know every cat and dog by name, and know their individual needs, ensuring excellent care and feedback They always emphasize friendliness and personal connection, while keeping the professionalism needed You’ll also get to meet volunteers from across the globe, each bringing their own unique culture and perspective I wish there were more coffee shops and local neighborhood life near the shelter, so I could take a break on my own, but on my days off, I had the chance to explore Athens, which made this already incredible experience even more enjoyable.

Elise was with us for nearly 10 days, and throughout her stay, she brought great energy and enthusiasm to our centre. She connected beautifully with the younger children and supported them with patience and care. Her involvement made the learning sessions more engaging and joyful for the little ones. The children felt comfortable around her and truly enjoyed spending time with her. We are grateful for the time and effort she shared with us. Wishing her continued success and happiness ahead and we hope our paths cross again in the future.

Maddy spent almost a week with us, and from the very first day, she was always ready to help. Whether it was working with the younger children, supporting the older ones, or even helping with household tasks, she was always willing to contribute wherever needed. From the moment you arrived in November, we knew these four months would go well. Hosting someone for an extended period is always an adventure. I often explain to my guests why I prefer longer stays. The first week, or even the first ten days, is almost always a period of adjustment: jet lag, differences in climate depending on their country of origin, cultural differences, changes in pace, philosophy of life, sometimes even diet, mealtimes different from home, not to mention the physical and mental fatigue that a new environment can bring. All of this requires time, patience, and a truly open mind. You quickly found your place with remarkable ease, as if you had always been part of the family. This adaptability, essential for a Workaway, this willingness to help and not just find a hotel, were your greatest qualities throughout your stay. Add to that your impeccable manners, your exceptional politeness, your strong commitment to household chores and keeping the place clean, and your constant attentiveness to others, which made daily life so much more pleasant. All the tasks took place outdoors, sometimes involving demanding physical work, especially with the horses, which is the main focus at this time of year, but also in the garden, requiring energy, perseverance, and respect, and you were extraordinary in all of this. Whether it was cold, raining, windy, or the days were long, you never looked at your watch as if it were a work contract; on the contrary, you even worked seven days a week because you wanted to, and because there was something to be done. This spontaneous and generous investment is rare and profoundly kind of you. Thank you again so much, Jonathan, for everything you've given, for your consistency, your reliability, and your wonderful humanity. We were warmly welcomed right from the beginning and stayed together with three other Workawayers. We had a super cozy little cabin to sleep in. During our stay, we finished the greenhouse project and always had all the tools needed to work properly. The food was amazing – we were very well taken care of, with freshly baked bread almost every day and two incredibly delicious asados. The wine in the region is also really good 😉 What made this place truly special was the family atmosphere. I had the feeling of being part of the family from day one. Esme, their daughter, quickly figured out that I’m great to play with, which created many lovely moments. I would come back anytime – to work well, enjoy amazing food, and spend beautiful evenings together. 😌😌
