We had a great time hosting Dustin and Lisa, and thank them a lot for their presence during the olive harvest. They participated to both the harvesting and the pruning of the trees in January. They committed themselves right away to the project, and showed great abilities to working outdoors. It was particularly impressive to see how fast they understood how to prune the trees, and in only a couple of days, had really made the technics shared their own. They were hard-working, consistent, and brought a great balance to the team. Everyone appreciated their cooking skills, as well as their ability to step in front for tasks of the daily life: driving, taking care of the wood stove, etc. We would be happy to host them again, and warmly recommend them to any hosts!

What a wonderful time we had with Celine and Lucas! They spent 4 weeks with us in January and gave us a great boost to finishing the harvest, before jumping on the pruning of the trees. Although the weather wasn't always the best and there was a variety of tasks, they showed up every day with full presence and a smile. They adapted easily to the the different tasks, eager to try and learn, and working well as a team. We enjoyed their company, the interest they had for the area, the olive production, and all the interesting conversations they initiated. Their awareness of team dynamics was on point, and we really appreciated what they brought to the table, co-creating in every instant the overall experience we all shared. Thank you so much for everything you contributed to this season. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Puja is a totally charming, adorable, helpful young woman. She was only with us a few days and we hope that she will return in the future for a longer stay . Puja was so helpful , always with a smile , we felt we had known her all our lives from the very first day & our little dogs also loved her . What is to say but the most, the best, amazingly wonderful experience with Puja here with us. She has this universal connection to people and pets that is her gift. Our house is in upset riot disorder right now from an insect invasion and efforts to clear that out and reorganize all the storage stuff and Puja just took that all in stride with helping and no problem. She was so the most helpful , our only regret was that she could n't stay longer . We recommend her 100 % and more. Gina and Jose '

Anja and Jonas were our very first Workawayers – and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better start. During their two-week stay with us, they approached a wide variety of tasks with enthusiasm, independence, and a wonderfully uncomplicated attitude: clearing and decluttering, felling and trimming trees, chipping wood, installing and filling raised garden beds, repairing doors and parquet flooring, painting, preparing firewood, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning. Jonas is a trained chef, and we had the pleasure of enjoying his delicious cooking on several evenings. In addition, he has strong practical skills, particularly when it comes to woodworking and DIY projects. Unfortunately, the planned outdoor kitchen could not be started due to the frozen ground, but he was able to begin some work on the pergola instead. Jonas is attentive, well-organised, and highly self-motivated. He is never afraid to tackle any task, an excellent cook, and a gifted sauna master. Anja almost single-handedly painted the walls of the upper floor and worked tirelessly on clearing land and filling the raised beds. She is thoughtful and diligent, always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. With her eye for detail and her love of creative expression (journaling, dot painting), she also brings an artistic touch to her work. Both of them are honest, reliable, conscientious, and very pleasant and calm to live and work with. In their free time, they explored Värnamo and the surrounding area, took walks in the forest and on the frozen lake. We also spent time together around the campfire, enjoyed sauna sessions, and shared relaxed evenings playing UNO and Jenga. During their stay, we achieved an incredible amount. We feel very fortunate to have hosted Anja and Jonas and can wholeheartedly recommend them to any future host.

From the first moment we met, we could feel the warm and genuine energy that Sofia and her family wanted to share with us. We had the pleasure of staying with them for 11 days, and we sincerely wished that it was longer. In this time, we got to help with a variety of tasks on the farm, explore the town and surrounding mountains, jump in the cold and refreshing river, learn about the energy system that powers the houses and the project, and so much more. We stayed in our own fully equipped separate cabins, and enjoyed shared lunches with Sofia, her family, and the other volunteers. The farm is a 2km walk from a public bus stop, so it is possible to explore without a car. Sofia was one of the best teachers that we had during a Workaway, and is clearly passionate about her work and community. It was a real pleasure to contribute to such a wonderful project. If you are looking for a true fulfilling Workaway experience, show up with your best energy (and sunscreen), and you will be rewarded. Thank you so much for everything Sofia and everyone! We are excited to see how the project grows, and to one day see you again 😁

We spent around 2.5 weeks at the Mountain Lodge and had a great experience. The atmosphere at the lodge is warm and welcoming. Ali, Miray, Göksel and Sefa received us kindly and were always friendly and open, and we enjoyed learning more about Turkish culture through our interactions with them. As we stayed during the winter low season, there were fewer guests, which meant that daily tasks such as helping with breakfast and room preparation were lighter and combined with general maintenance work like painting, small repairs, deep cleaning and some gardening tasks. The work was varied, done with good team spirit, and Ali made sure the workload stayed well within limits while trying to match tasks to our skills and interests. The location of the lodge is truly beautiful, offering stunning views over Antalya and surrounded by pine forests and mountains. It’s a great place for nature lovers, with access to the Lycian Way for hiking, which we explored in our free time. Overall, it was a nice stay in a peaceful and scenic environment, and we appreciated the heartfelt hospitality and authentic experience. Çok teşekkür ederim 😊

Matteo and Lea arrived with incredible timing, with their specific skills and experiences they were able help us put up a new structure without us even having to be there… almost ;) We are very grateful to have had this opportunity to meet and spend time together, work together, eat together … they integrated effortlessly into all aspects of our lives and this made it a very pleasant and enjoyable exchange! Grazie ragazzi!!

Our time with Celeste, Adriano and Xavier was quite the Experience we wished for as we started our Journey and so much more! From day one we were part of the family. We stayed three month at their place and the more time we spend there, the more „work“ became everyday life and we really enjoyed it. Wether it was playing with Xavier in the garden, reading a book with him or playing together with his toys. He's very lively, but sometimes he also sat peacefully on the floor and just played on his own. He will always have a special place in our heart, as well as Celeste and Adriano will. We were included in everything from going to the grocery store to participating at Carnevale, but our free time was always respected and valued and we could always decide weather we wanted to join or stay at home. Truely we haven't met more kind and warmhearted Italians. Everyone is always there for you when you feel unwell our just need emotional support. With this experience we didn't only gain new memories but also a Family. If your deciding wether you should or shouldn't contact this host we highly recommend you to do so! Not only will you fall in love with the people but also with the mountains and of course the animals. Thank you Celeste, Adriano, Xavier, Flecke and Nerino. We will never forget the time that we had together :)

Simone is great! I literally can say she saved me and my dog by taking us just about that time that the heavy storms hit Andalusia this year. Even if there was not really much to do on her land with this weather she gave me shelter in her lovely sweet little wooden house, which is very unique for this area. You are surrounded by hills and olive trees. Simone made me feel very welcome and she was emerging enough to trust in me by leaving her house and playful Sheppard dog "Nube" with me while she was away. Its easy to have talks with Simone, that room she offers is cosy and furnished very much with love as her entire house and she does bring good food on the table regularly. But it's not the right place for you if you need long hot showers daily or similar comforts. It's quite an simple way of life but definitely worth it to experience. To get privacy is little hard, especially when it rains all day, but me and Simone managed it well under this circumstances. Thank you Simone

I just contacted Begoña at the last minute. almost as I was passing through the village 🙈. We are traveling in a camper van and decided to stop at the village and offer any assistance we could. Immediately she replied and welcomed us. We spent 4 days in this beautiful little village and 2 evenings at Begona's class with children that ranged from about 11 to 18 years. It was a really pleasant time with the students . You have free reign to talk as a group with the students and encourage them to interact with you. Like any class. some are very eager and some have to be encouraged. Her classroom is very comfortable , very professional and the students seem to enjoy coming. We had coffee each morning with Begona and when we were leaving she gave us a gift of some local delicacies and local wine. It was just a short , enjoyable and very easy going time. If I was passing back this way again I would definitely offer to stop by again. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed having Rachel and Nick in the farm. They are an excellent team player and carried out their tasks well. Although initially they had to cope the hot and humid weather, they adapted well and learnt to use the tools and machine well. I would recommend this coupleto other work hosts Till next time....!!

If you're an outdoor person who truly loves animals and wants to make a difference this is the right opportunity for you. At this place you will meet super friendly cats and dogs but also very shy ones, you must be patient and extra gentle with those. They won’t trust you in the beginning and some might be very difficult to handle, just keep calm and try different approaches as you will get to know them better and they will get to know you. They all have particular needs, different personalities and backgrounds but after a couple of weeks you will start seeing small and positive changes. There’s a good few friendly locals that regularly help at the shelter along with the staff members Aya-San and Akimi-San, both very diligent and caring. You will be sharing a house with other volunteers and Chula the cat. (= The house has everything you need but it's very cold in the winter so pack wisely. You’ll have enough blankets and also heaters, and if you need anything else don’t hesitate to ask Susan or Hitoshi, even if they are always very busy they will make sure you have a pleasant stay! The place was founded by Susan 20 years ago and she has been moving mountains to change things for the better, to prevent suffering and save lives. It deserves all your support. Thank you so much for having me. ^:^

We look back on a wonderful, exciting and relaxing time with Gin and Johan. The energy in this place is wonderful, stress-free and energising. Namid and Nael are adorable, wonderful children. We have never met children who switch intuitively between three languages and interact so naturally with us ‘newcomers’. Gin and Johan made us feel welcome and part of the community from the very first moment. We were able to organise the agreed working hours very freely and do things we enjoy doing. The highlights were the barbecues with friends, music and Gin's wonderful voice. Thank you for three wonderful weeks! Anke & Olaf
