Robin was an absolute pleasure to have as a volunteer with us. From the very beginning, he showed a strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to get involved in every task he was given. He was reliable, proactive, and consistently completed his work to a high standard. What truly stood out was how deeply he cared about the animals. He treated them with kindness, patience, and respect at all times, always making sure their wellbeing came first. It was clear that his motivation came from a real love for what he was doing. Beyond his assigned responsibilities, Robin regularly went above and beyond to help wherever he was needed. Whether assisting other volunteers, taking initiative with additional tasks, or stepping in during busy moments, he was always ready to contribute with a positive attitude. We are very grateful for everything Robin brought to our team and would gladly welcome him back anytime. Any project would be lucky to have him.

I had a truly wonderful time with Lou, Lee, and Rita. Lou and Lee are incredibly relaxed and lovely people, genuinely among the kindest I have ever met during my travels. From the very first day, they made me feel welcome and at home. Rita is absolutely adorable, and it was such a pleasure to spend time with such an amazing family. They are also fantastic cooks and prepared the most delicious vegan dinners. They were incredible helpful and generous, especially when it came to travel advice and they always took the time to share recommendations, insider tips, and practical guidance. I felt so supported and they were happy to help any time. They also have two very cute cats and a some chicken, which I really liked taking care of. I am very grateful for the time I was able to spend there and would highly recommend staying with this wonderful family.

I had a wonderful and truly Blessed experience volunteering at this wonderful Christian Private School. I wish I would have come across there profile prior running out of time in Namibia. But the 2 weeks I spent here have been great and surpassed my expectations. Linda, Ben and their friend Leandra are very kind and caring people. I don’t know many people who would open up their home to open up such a school that first and foremost instills Christian values and operates more like a family then a school. Every morning I got to see how much care they have for the Children. From the time the children arrive they are received with hugs instead of being bossed around or mistreated as was my experience in the Public Schools. The mornings start with a devotional and then breakfast which is usually prepared by Leandra. This brought a lot of happy memories from my early Christian days were I spent many a Sunday being invited to houses of different families where I enjoyed a lot of time with the Children of the families. The Children have been a Blessing to me and a delight to be around. I enjoy every interaction, from teaching them futbol/soccer to just listening to them and just having them share their lives with me and even a few funny jokes. For me I felt more like I was assisting at a summer camp as the environment is easy going, non stressful with the goal of bringing out the best of the students. The accommodations that Ben and Linda provide are top notch and maybe the Best of all the workaways I have experienced. They provide you with your own apartment, with a comfortable bed, a full equipped kitchen with even things such as an air fryer, a hand mixture to make cappuccinos and french press. The food also is the best of any workaway I have experienced, I mean no one has provided me with so much eggs from there own chicken and high quality meat. I almost feel as if I should be doing more because they truly provide abundantly. I would say they make up for the experiences where I felt used and taken advantaged off. Also they you a free to use their pool which is a big added bonus during the hot summer Windhoek afternoons. I will miss my time here and wish them the best. Definitely highly recommended to those who love and children and hold true to traditional Christian values.

I absolutely love the kids. I miss them all. The work isn’t too hard and Nzaha is nice, along with her family :) You do have to know that half of your time will be spent at her brothers and that sometimes she will be gone and you have to find accommodation during those times. I enjoyed my time and have so many memories to take with me. Thank you so much :))

トーマスとナオミは５日間の短い滞在でしたが、いつも笑顔とユーモアを絶やさない素敵なカップルで、私達の生活様式に合わせて暮らしてくれました。私は2人の滞在中腰を痛めていたので頼れる二人が来てくれたことは本当に助かりました。庭木の剪定や家の掃除を行ってくれました。子どもたちともすぐに打ち解けてくれました、犬の散歩もしてくださり本当に感謝しています。トーマスにカポエラを見せてもらいました、空手を習っている長男の教室で武道交流ができました。最終日にはナオミのクレープを食べました、とても美味しかったです！教わったレシピで私もこれから家族に作るでしょう。素敵な時間をありがとう、また会いましょうね！

Helping Ilknur and her family was a great experience for me. It was full of good feelings and appreciation. Even when the tasks I did were small, Ilknur always thanked me sincerely. Her father is a hardworking and family-oriented man with a kind smile. He(they) always had a very positive and respectful attitude toward me, and I always felt welcomed in their home. I gained new experiences, learned many valuable things and most importantly I had the chance to meet genuinely kind and warm-hearted people. I hope that one day I will be able to host them and return their kindness and hospitality. Thank you, Ilknur

The last 10 days with Suz on the land have been absolutely amazing ☀️ I wish I could have stayed longer.. I can highly recommend everyone to volunteer with Suz :) She is a very kind, attentive, aware, funny, generous and lovely person 🙏 The work around the garden was fun and diverse, she has a beautiful connection to all plants/animals and shares it with you, a place where you can learn a lot! I could borrow her electric bike to get around and explore, hitchhiking is also very easy in Raglan and sometimes we did trips together:) The little cabin is really cute and a great place to stay in, being close to nature. Thank you very much for the beautiful time together Suz, I hope to be back soon ✨

Pleun is an incredibly strong minded person and I really respected the insights she brought with her. We loved having her and enjoying time with her - especially the swims in the river in the afternoon. Pleun helped with a range of tasks and always saw what needed to be done - she was quick to do the washing up after dinner and left the place immaculate. Always greatly appreciated! She bonded well with the others and it as lovely to hear the joy they all shared while they tackled their daily chores. We shared evening meals but more than that, we shared insights into life's complexities and how they affect us all. Very wise for her age, Pleun is a great workawayer - and I have no hesitation in recommending her to others. Thoughtful, kind, insightful - that is how I would describe Pleun. Enjoy your travels!

My time at Pia's place was truly wonderful. I had planned on staying for four weeks with her and ended up coming back for two more. I spent the days doing simple tasks in and around the house and hanging out with her animals. In the evenings Pia and I would often eat together and talk. On my days off Pia always had great recommendations and offered to drive me places when she could. She is an intelligent woman with a lot of stories to tell. Her animals are great as well. The two cats are super friendly. The dogs need some time to warm up and when they do they are great companions. Donnie is more calm and Pomona more energetic. If you are a calm and communicative person, this host will be a good fit for you 🌞

I had a wonderful stay at Andrea's/Gregor's house during 10 days, and I would recommend anyone to do a workaway experience at their house. I engoyed so much playing with their thee kids (Max, Delphi and Hugo), jumping on the trampolin, learning english with them, and sharing many lovely moments (cooking pancakes, doing manualities and reconnecting with my and their creativity) All the family are very respectful, generous, and friendly. I felt very comfortable in the house, with a beautiful garden, and in a very peaceful zone. I also had my own room. Regarding food, they cooked for everyone very healthy and I could also cook whatever I wanted. And of course, I also want remember Andrea's delicious plum jam and her kefir. My daily tasks were helping with cleaning the house, tidying up, doing laundry, and loading and unloading the dishwasher. I also helped weeding the garden and helped Gregor with the tree branches. Andrea and Gregor are very grateful for all the chores and are very respectful of working hours. We also shared family moments hiking in Nelson National Park (which I was really excited to go). I am very grateful to them for their hospitality.

Fatima war vom 19. bis einschließlich 28. 02. 2026 als Mitarbeiterin auf unserem Hof . Wir erlebten stets eine gutgelaunte, hilfsbereite junge Frau. Fatima war für uns eine große Bereicherung. Das nicht nur uns zu Gute kam. Sie kann mit Tieren sehr gut umgehen. Leider war die Zeit viel zu kurz, um sich richtig kennen zu lernen. Aber das werden wir nachholen. Wir freuen uns schon auf ein nächstes Mal beim Sommerfest 2026 und wünschen Fatima alles Gute. Liebe Grüße Kirsten und Andreas

I volunteered through Workaway at Anna’s place, helping to harvest lemons, oranges, and grapefruits. She welcomed my son, my dogs, and me with incredible generosity. We lived in her home, and everything was very comfortable. Anna was always kind, patient, and attentive to our needs. Her land is beautiful — peaceful, calming, and truly rejuvenating. At first, we didn’t know how long we would stay, but we ended up staying for more than a month and a half. It was a wonderful experience for both my son and me, a real pause in our journey. We shared activities together, enjoyed her delicious meals, and felt completely at home. We also loved spending time with her dog, Zoa, and taking care of all the cats. It was truly a special experience that we will always remember.

Maria and Lucia, we truly appreciate your time here. Your kindness, patience, and eagerness to learn during our cultural exchange were wonderful to see. You provided incredible support to both students and teachers, both inside and outside the classroom. A special mention must go to the home visits; your genuine concern for our families was a total game-changer for many students. Additionally, your work with the boarding students' mentorship program and your help with homework made a lasting impact. Thank you for everything

I really enjoyed my stay here in January 2026 ! Deej and Joanna are wonderful people who love to share about Irish culture, and I loved learning about it. The old house truly felt like it had a soul full of history, and I spent a lot of great moments with the other workawayers in the kitchen (the « heart » of the house) and the gardens (the « lungs » !) full of laughter and human connection. The given tasks were well explained and quite enjoyable. On my days off, Deej was available to drive me to the bus stop, or even directly to Galway to spend weekends there and enjoy the wonderful city. Thanks to her we also had the opportunity to go to a rugby match which was really fun ! Thank you very much for hosting me, I hope we’ll see eachother again !

I feel so lucky to have had Silvan as my host in Switzerland during my winter holiday. I had such a wonderful time with him! I felt a little embarrassed because all I did to help was paint and wash dishes, while he did so much for me. He even taught me how to ski! He’s not only a fantastic host but also a really kind and great person.

It was truly incredible meeting Tommy, Daniela, and Tosca. They left a lasting impression on all our learners! Their commitment, patience, and kindness—combined with excellent interpersonal skills—made the December break truly special. They handled everything from computer lessons and one-on-one tutoring to organizing fun indoor and outdoor games. The educational trips they led, including the visit to the plastic recycling plant, provided invaluable exposure for the students. The learners still miss them dearly and we all look forward to seeing them again soon

Roko spent a couple of months at our academy and during this time it was nice to see him grow as an individual. He spent time to build connections with the kids and would hang out with them and play games together. Roko's heart is genuinely in the right place, he wants to try and help the kids as much as he can, which is really nice to see. As an IT specialist, he taught the kids about being safe online and cyber security. Roko, good luck with the rest of your travels and we hope to see you again sometime in the near future.

Your two-week stay with our community made a wonderful impression on everyone. Your dedication to teaching mathematics and computer lessons, as well as organizing indoor and outdoor games, was incredible and truly boosted the learners' skill development. The trip to Nairobi National Park was a highlight that created lasting memories for the students. We look forward to welcoming you back again

This experience was truly beautiful. More than a Workaway, it felt like living as a local, which was such a gift. Saiju often invited me to meet his friends, and many evenings naturally ended at the beach, watching the day soften into sunset. Those simple moments made the experience very special. His homestay is wonderful, and he keeps it with great care, everything is very clean and well organized, which creates a peaceful environment to live in. The work itself is simple and easy, leaving space to enjoy the rhythm of the place and the connections with people. The house has a kitchen, and he is happy if you enjoy cooking. The home is right next to the beach, and you will have your own peaceful space there to relax and recharge. Saiju is a truly extraordinary person: fair, kind, respectful and very cordial. He is a good friend, and he will always be there to support you. If you ever need anything, you can count on him. Thank you for everything Saiju! 🙏☀️

Jennifer was a joy to have with us during her two stays in October/November 2025 and again in December/January 2026. She provided invaluable one-on-one learning support, showing a deep understanding of our learners' academic needs while remaining incredibly kind and patient.
