What a beautiful and amazing souls!! Eveline and Alex are such heart warming, open-minded, hard working, reliable and flexible couple. They are literally really happy and comfortable people to be around with. 😊no words are enough to describe how much they contributed for the farm, how amazing they are and how much we heve missed them. (and writing this feedback makes us miss them more and tears are about to drop from our eyes!) They are very interested in organic rice farming, so we had a class about SRI methodology that we have been practicing here, and had a small class and hands-on about making fertilizer and compost. So, even we couldn’t do planting together with them, they learnt almost all the stages of growing organic rice. Eveline and Alex took initiative to start working from the early morning in the fields, released the ducks and chicken, collected the eggs, etc. so it was so easy for other volunteers coming later than them to follow and what to do in the morning. (thanks to all the October team, we finished weeding so quickly and as scheduled!) Other than that, they helped Captain in demolishing an old house, collecting the scrap woods, pulling out the nails one by one from the scrap woods, and cleaning the fish pond(!), collecting the fallen leaves, etc. Also, when it was raining, they were still trying to find out what they can do for the farm! They cleaned the kitchen, communal area, shelves, washing the dishes and cooking tools, making the things tidy, preparing the rooms for the upcoming events, and so on. Eveline is very curious about cooking, so she often came to the kitchen after the morning work and helped Kakak and Chikako almost everyday. And she is such a mood maker!;) Alex is really good at filming with drone and GoPro! He made lots of filming and photos of the daily beautiful moments but we could have never captured before..! His works will help us in many ways from making the presentation slides to the posts/reels for our social medias. Thanks to this beautiful, kind and respectful couple, not only with us but also with the volunteers at that time are very close each other, caring each other, and we really felt like a great big family. And we miss them a lot! We really hope and recommend to any Workaway hosts to welcome them in your great project! We are 100% sure that you will love them a lot as we do! 😊 Thank you so much again Eveline and Alex. We think of you guys a lot, miss you guys a lot! Safe journey and all the best to your travel ahead and your life ahead! Don’t forget to makan enough always! :D See you soon!

We’ve spent about 1 and a half month at Kiki&Mo’s, and the experience was waaay more than we could have imagined! From olive harvests to hikes to helping their friends to housesitting to yummy creative dinners to help with animals, loooots of breads and cakes, friends’ visits and good conversations, cold dips, doggies and cats cuddles, laughter, beach trips, and so many more! We learnt a lot about olives, oils, and now we know the real deal ;) Kiki&Mo are a young pasisonte couple that care about everyone/everything around them so much and it showed us what the real community is - be kind, be responsive, help people around you..and remember to laugh!! we also got a chance to help their friend with festival preps and met lots of other incredible people from the area and shared beautiful moments with other workawayers as well. The house is beautiful, Kiki puts her magic into decorating it, and you can tell there’s lots of love flowing around. Mo is always making sure you have everything you need/desire as we stayed in the guest house. The guest house is super cute and cozy, with a beautiful handbuilt metal/wooden kitchen. the nature there is incredibly fascinating, the silence and the contrast of the strong winds that blow in the area remind you of the strength of nature and surprises like river coming back after strong rains is something that really makes you alive, especially after dipping in it :) We are grateful for everything <3 Knee squish to you with lots of love, Anya&Ant!!

I originally planned to stay one week with Tom and Loïs, ended up staying ten days, leaving to stay with a friend and came back for ten days more. I guess that says enough.

One of the best experiences of my life. Jonathan is an incredible host: very kind, respectful, and extremely accommodating. The work required is fair, well explained, and totally achievable. The atmosphere at the ranch is amazing, and the people there are truly incredible as well. I felt welcomed and respected from the very first day. I highly recommend this Workaway experience.

Émilie and Joël stayed with us for about three weeks, and during that time Alex and I had a lot of work outside the farm. We were able to fully trust them with the daily activities of the farm: feeding and caring for the animals, helping improve spaces for new animals, and supporting with the coffee harvest. They are both very independent, proactive, and quickly understood the needs of the farm without needing constant guidance. Émilie is also an amazing cook, which was a big plus! We truly appreciated their energy, autonomy, and willingness to help. Their way of traveling is inspiring, and we feel very grateful to have shared this time with them. We wish them an incredible journey around the world and hope to cross paths again. Any host who welcomes them will be just as thankful as we are.

Lina! She is such a reliable, organized, respectful, open-minded, kind and calm person, and is always ready to give her hands! When we welcomed her on our farm, it was a bit less season as she mentioned and as it was Ramadhan month. So, she helped us in taking care of the garden and chicken and ducks, in post-harvest process such as drying the harvested rice, milling and packaging them, and so on. Even we couldn’t prepare the chance for her to learn how to plant, grow and take care of the organic rice, she was helping us a lot in those tasks and kept clean and tidy in the kitchen everyday. We are so glad that we could celebrate Hari Raya together and introduce lots of our traditional foods and how to make them such as shredding many coconuts to prepare Lemang, one of the malay traditional foods. We really hope she would come back here sometime in the future and in the active season, and we would love to share more time with her! Also, we hope you/the workaway hosts can welcome here to your amazing projects and have great time with her! We really recommend! Thank you so much again, Lina! We miss you a lot and often remember you! :D Come back anytime and we are looking forward to welcoming you again! 😊 Terima kasih!

It was a fantastic experience. I felt at home, and the people were friendly and helpful. They are very clear, precise, and kind. The atmosphere was truly welcoming. The accommodation was excellent, and the tasks weren't too demanding. The city is beautiful and full of things to discover. I hope to return in the future.

Flor was great to have around and helped with everything we needed. She did all tasks really well, always with a positive attitude and good energy. Super reliable, easygoing, and a pleasure to host. We’d definitely recommend her to whole Workaway communities around the world.

Cory has been an amazing workawayer to host, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. He helped us across multiple areas of the house and property... From painting and cleaning to general upkeep... always with great energy, responsibility, and attention to detail. Beyond the practical work, Cory brought something really special with him... his DJ setup and an incredible sense of music. He created beautiful musical moments here, setting up great vibes and sharing his talent generously with everyone around. He is easygoing, respectful, creative, and very reliable. Anyone hosting Cory would be lucky...We highly, genuinely recommend him to the entire Workaway community around the world.

To say that this stay surpassed my expectations would be an understatement still. Claire and Michiel are a lovely, energetic and in all the right ways crazy couple with a dream which requires from them an unreal amount of dedication, work and love. For me, having been a tiny part of this undertaking was an experience I will without a doubt cherish for a lifetime! Ask them about how they got to know each other (ask both, independently, they tell fascinating perspectives on this story), about their ups and downs with the project, about their times with the kids, their aspirations and hardships alike - I know only very few people who would let you in on their lives like that. Maybe it‘s a German thing to be used to closed-off people - Claire and Michiel are quite the contrary. The amount of trust they put into strangers they only got to know briefly before and the amount of love and care they show to include everyone and make them feel welcome is amazing. Now this is a Workaway and there are of course some expectations too, there may be conflicts, doubts or problems, misunderstandings and shortcomings, fatigue, boredom or missed expectations. That‘s normal, and to expect otherwise would be naive - but rest assured that you can talk to Claire and Michel, or usually the other Workawayers too, openly and find solutions and ways through. What I am trying to tell you is: If you are like me, try not to worry too much. I had strong doubts going at first (this was my first Workaway) - they were unfounded. To Claire and Michiel and the girls too: You know this already - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and am looking forward to another time! Love, Ben ❤️

They arrived when we needed them most. Gonzalo is a fantastic woodworker, but not only that! Leonie helped us with clearing the land and building the seat. They have incredible energy and are excellent cooks!! I recommend them 10,000%!

I spend two weeks volunteering at Jorge’s place in Guarazoca in the beginning of 2026. The job was varied: painting, care of the chickens and rabbit, cooking, picking physalis, preparing bananas for dehydration and talking to customers and selling the beautiful art & crafts in his shop ‘Artesanía and Sueños’. Jorge was really warm and welcoming - he introduced me to some of his friends and it was a wonderful experience to meet some of the local Herreños and feel like a part of the community while I was there. I worked with three other volunteers, all really friendly and helpful people - on my last day we made pizza in the wood fired oven and enjoyed a final dinner together. The area of Guarazoca has a northern charm with a lot of hiking paths and the Mirador de Peña of César Monrique with stunning views over the ‘Golfo’ just 500m from the house. Thank you, Jorge, for being such a great, welcoming host, for opening your home to me and sharing your Canarian lifestyle in nature with us all. It was an unforgettable experience.

I came across this last-minute Workaway and it turned out to be an incredible stroke of luck. From the very first moment, Harold and Anya made us feel completely at home. They are not only incredibly kind, but also warm, understanding, and full of fun. They are great communicators, which made it easy to talk openly and resolve any issue. Working together never felt like work at all—on the contrary, it was always enjoyable. In the evenings, we would play Skyjo or Hitster together and share lots of laughter. I had an amazing time. I will always carry in my heart the moments spent in their peaceful little corner of nature. The house, right by the lake, is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Even though the weather wasn’t always on our side, I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience 💛

When we got into workaways about a year ago, this was the type of experience we truly wished to encounter. Everything is there. Real responsabilities, team work, real cultural exchange throught stories, shared meals and daily life adventures. Keet was away a lot of the time we were there because of his busy schedule around the christmas and new years period but we always felt like he cared extensivly for us. He would call everyday to check on us and make sure we were confortable. We had the immense pleasure of getting to know his incredible staff. Chang, Joy and Pong. They were incredibly patient (having to google translate for a lot of interactions) and taught us so much about the farm and the tasks. They are incredibly ressourcefull poeple and they always have great intuition to solve problems. The food is simply incredible at this workaway and we were always fed until we were full and then some! Everything is healthy, fresh, tasty and spicy if you want. You will see quickly that Keet and his team work almost 24/7, so expect real rewarding hard/physical work (don’t be transactionnal about your time here!). Anyway, we were there for 3 weeks and we will remember it for the rest of our lives. We really hope we can come back one day. Thank you Keet, Chang, Joy and Pong🙏❤️

We planned to do woofing for the first time to give meaning to our trip. We wanted to be useful. We ended up at Huber's place. We notified him two months before our arrival, but he is not very talkative in writing. We stayed for 15 days. The farm (finca) is located 50 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by Uber from La Fortuna. It is in the middle of a park where there are lots of animals and tours are organised for tourists (making chocolate, cane juice, taking a cooking class, visiting the medicinal plants and crops, going on a night tour to see the animals). In terms of work, we weeded, hoed, collected wood and leaves, helped prepare meals and translated the tours for tourists from Spanish into English or French. It is necessary to have a high school level of Spanish. Huber is flexible with schedules. For meals, you can help yourself to the vegetable garden, but this is only a small bonus; you have to stock up at the nearby mini-market. The presence of Sabrina and Valentin, a French couple of volunteers (here they are called volunrarios) who arrived three months ago when they initially came for three weeks, was both an advantage and a disadvantage. We were welcomed immediately and introduced to how things worked. But because of this, they unintentionally acted as a barrier between us and Don Huber, his family, and employees Carmen and Matchu. Their level of Spanish was far above ours. Their seniority allowed them to take charge of groups independently. The rooms with bathrooms and common areas are very comfortable. In conclusion, the experience was positive, the place is magical, and Don Huber is very friendly. We really enjoyed this mission. PURA VIDA

Flore and Julian stayed with us from February to July. Since they stayed with us for six months, they were able to familiarize themselves with many areas of our work. It was lambing season on the farm, and both of them learned quickly, worked diligently, and became a great support to the farm. Over time, they learned how to make cheese together. With their quick comprehension, they worked their way in so well that they were able to work largely independently and were a great help to our cheese crew. The two also worked enthusiastically in the fields and garden, preparing the beds, spreading manure, and working with the tiller. They were eager to learn and open-minded and supported us greatly. Towards the end of their stay with us, they also learned how to make pesto and preserve vegetables for the winter. With their friendly and cheerful nature, Flore and Julian greatly enriched our community. We wish them many more good Workaway experiences, but would also be happy to welcome them back anytime.

Stefano and Francesca hosted me for three weeks in October and November. I didn't see much of them at first, and communication was rather difficult (mainly due to our mutual incomprehension difficulties, me speaking Italian and them English). But little by little, we learned to understand each other better, through gestures and by mixing languages, which was quite funny and increasingly effective. They both work very hard but made sure to spend time with us whenever possible and ensured everything went smoothly for us. I was touched by their thoughtfulness, even in their sometimes chaotic daily lives. I really enjoyed our conversations and the dinners we shared from time to time, which allowed me to learn more about them, about Tuscany, about the farm ...and also to get to know the children Leonardo and Bjorn. With the other Workawayers, we cleaned and tidied the workshop, untangled dozens of meters of rope, installed the electric fence for the goats, and planted some vegetables. We also harvested some of the olives with the family. I appreciated the variety of tasks, which made the work fun and motivant. And above all, our daily tasks involved feeding and caring for the animals, which I remember very fondly. So many enriching new experiences! The colors of the Valle di Mezzo in autumn were truly magnificent. There are lovely walks to be had around the farm. Since I didn't have a car, I was still able to take trips to the surrounding towns by hitchhiking, or occasionally with Francesca or the other Workawayers who gave me rides. At one point, we were up to 5 Workawayers together. I found those times very joyful and loved the wonderful people I met. Thank you to the whole family for the warm welcome and for sharing this! I wish you all the best for the future.

It was an absolute pleasure to host Louise (Loulou). I was fortunate to be able to pickup Louise on her arrival at the airport and by the time we arrived home I knew this stay was going to be great. Louise had a lot to do to get ready for her adventures in Tasmania and it was a pleasure to assist her in meeting those aims. In addition she nailed everything that was asked of her and her assistance around the house was highly appreciated. As is the norm we shared some great food and even better conversations and it goes without saying that I would have Louise back anytime, should she require hosting again. Highly recommended!

My two weeks at the Center felt like opening a new door. The atmosphere is bright and simple, with a clear sense of balance and intention. The work was varied, well organized but never rigid. The community is very cool and welcoming. There is a lot of flexibility, openness, and genuine care for volunteers. Of course, there can be some challenges in adjusting, understanding nuances, and navigating cultural differences, but it’s all good—I found everything meaningful, healthy and truly interesting. I recommend this place to anyone who is open to engaging with community life and its schedule, and who has an interest in silence and self-curiosity. Sunims, thank you for everything! I really hope to come back in the future.
