    Description

Hi! I’m Marilu 😊 I live in North Vancouver (Lynn Valley), in a beautiful area surrounded by nature, with easy access to the city.

I work in health technology, supporting family doctors with digital tools and new technologies, including AI medical support tools. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on home and garden projects.

I’ve hosted many people, so I’m very comfortable sharing my home and creating a welcoming, respectful environment. Have great wifi and your room has a small workspace.
I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds, we're originally from Argentina but have been here for over a decade.

I love living in Lynn Valley it’s a green, lovely area with easy access to hiking trails, mountains, and nature, yet close to downtown Vancouver. It’s a great fit if you enjoy being outdoors, going for walks, or exploring the North Shore.

Everything you need is close by, Lynn Valley Centre is a 12-min walk away. You can find (groceries, cafés, etc., There's great convenient public transportation to take you downtown in 35 minutes.

At home, it’s a calm and friendly environment. It’s an non-smoking non-vaping all-female home, and we value a respectful, clean, and relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable.

    Cultural Exchange

I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing everyday life at home. I’m happy to chat, share meals when we can, and exchange experiences and perspectives.

If you’re interested, I can also share what I’ve learned about gardening and setting up spaces. At the same time, I always enjoy learning from others and hearing about different cultures and ways of doing things.

Living here also gives you the chance to experience life on the North Shore, with easy access to nature, hiking, and the city.

I have limited availability specially during Spring and Summer and usually host for shorter stays, so it’s best to check dates with me before applying.

    Help Needed

Right now I’m focusing on clearing part of the backyard and improving the garden areas.

The main help I need is with:

    Cutting and clearing weeds/light roots
    Gathering and organizing debris
    General yard cleanup
Helping with simple outdoor setups like a trellis
Light leveling of the ground in some areas (for example filling small holes and evening things out)

It’s mostly physical stuff, but pretty straightforward. No experience needed—I’ll be with you and explain what needs to be done.

We’ll usually start tasks together so it’s clear, and then you can continue on your own.

The goal is just to get the space clean and usable, and then build from there.

There’s some lifting involved (like moving soil bags or debris), nothing extreme but good to be comfortable lifting around 15 kg. We’ll also use tools like a lawn mower, weed wacker, and basic garden tools like scissors or clippers. I have bins and wheelbarrows, so it’s pretty manageable.

Breakfast is available but self prepared, and there's cereal or eggs etc, coffee/tea, fruits. Our weekend lunch is also shared but due to my work daily lunch will be at each persons preference.
