We respond to the interest shown by our workers and we always try to learn where their interests lie. There is a lot to experience and learn in this part of New Zealand and we have lived here for thirty years. If a worker has particular interests, there could be good discussions and there may be things to see and do. If we cannot join in then we will point them in the right direction or connect them with people who can.

    Help

We are looking for helpers who can understand English at least at a basic level so that they can follow instructions and keep themselves safe. You do not need any particular skills but you need to be able to work unsupervised and be responsible for your own time-keeping. It is an advantage if you have a driver's license for New Zealand. We will give you a mix of outdoors work on our lifestyle block such as weeding and stick collecting and inside work such as cleaning. We like our helpers to assist with preparation of the evening meal and help with dishes etc just like normal family life.

    Accommodation

The volunteer's accommodation is in a cottage separate from ours. The cottage is well furnished and provisioned. Depending on individual preferences, workers might make their own breakfast or lunch from food supplied by us and then join us for the evening meal.

    What else ...

There are a number of bush walks in the area including unique flora and fauna. This is the centre of New Zealand's history and the gateway to the Bay of Islands. We have easy access to shops and all amenities in Waipapa and Kerikeri. We can tailor suggestions around our workers' interests so that you can make the most of your time here.
