  Description

  My wife and I live on a small organically farmed Eco Farm with our large friendly cat called Pushkin and some chickens, located in rural Central Portugal. We are in our fourth year and are looking for some help in developing new projects and maintaining existing ones!
  
  We have about 11 acres of land that we are slowly working on to become more self sufficient. We have some forestry, some vegetable gardens a small , young vineyard and some olive and fruit trees.
  
  We are remote without being inaccessible and enjoy the peace and quiet of no near nieghbours.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We are an English married couple with diverse backgrounds. We are happy to share knowledge and experience's related to living a quiet rural lifestyle and all of what that entails.
  We will share how we grow many plants, some from seed, how we care for our plants, tree care, forestry work, land care and animal care.
  I am also a baker and so if you want I can show and share making Sourdough Starters from scratch, making bread from a sourdough starter.
  The surrounding area is rural and remote with many stunning views and forest walks. We have within a 10-15 minute drive a number of small towns and villages that have many Festivals throughout the year. There is a bar in the local village a 10 minute walk away, only open occasionally!

  Help

  I grow a lot of plants, both vegetable and flowers from seed I am happy show and share this knowledge and experience.
  The vegetable beds need planting out, the lawn needs mowing and with the changing seasons the help we need also changes.
  
  We also need help clearing river beds, digging land ,clearing weeds, fertilising veg beds. We have a small vineyard that needs maintenance. I will happily show and share the work with you. Post storms we need help collecting firewood and generally with ongoing maintenance and seasonal clearing.

  We are NOT looking for ANY help with the running of the B&B business .
  We are ONLY looking for help with the land which we maintain and look after .
  The business is very seasonal and is only busy during the summer season when the weather makes it difficult to do outdoor projects and our focus then is only on the running of the business - autumn and spring are the times when more help and hands would be much appreciated and we can offer the experience of living and helping in this beautiful area of Portugal.

  We speak English natively, and we have studied Portuguese to A1/A2 standard. We always enjoy any Portuguese language help. We also speak a little French and some Africaans.

  The bedroom space that we have for you to stay in is a self contained suite of 2 bedrooms and an en-suite bathroom shower room. In this space there is also an annexe with a desk and chair available for your use. Internet access is available all over the property including in your suite of rooms. The maximum download is about 450mbps and about 50 mbps upload. Although the wifi routers and switches are configured to limit this to about 150 per device so the network is available to everyone

  Pushkin

  Pushkin is a large cat, he behaves a bit like a dog! He talks and communicates with and really enjoys human company.
