Description
Hello, we are Milena and Emilio, 38 and 43 years old. We live in a very beautiful land, in Castelluzzo, near Trapani, sicilian west coast. We have mostly olive trees, vegetable garden, and officinal plants and we produce olive oil for our own consumption.
Right now we are bulding our house, after several years of awful beaureaucratic waiting! So, it's a great end epic moment for us. Our house will be entirely in straw and wood so if you will come you will enjoy and learn the different steps of a green building site. We will offer workshops open to everyone to learn eco-building, so it will be a very lively and exciting building site!
So we need help for it and also babysitting with our kids (one of 9 and half years old, and one 3 years old), with house maintenance, cleaning, washing, cooking (so we request also cooking skills) and also gardening, like farming jobs that request a good energy and strenght (mulch, bio-shredding , uprooting...).
Our area: we are not isolated, in these last 4 years we built a big community of friends of all ages. 2 years ago we created a parental school where our eldest son go and where we teach sometimes. If you are looking for places with a strong community, here we are. We cook the bread together in the wood-fired oven once a month (or pizza) we organize always parties, lunchs, dinners...
We live in a small house, nearby we have a yurta tent that is a shared space when you can read, rest, cook, work on your laptop or anything. You will be host in a wood house near the yurta, comfortable and private. You will have also your private bathroom with shower, outside the wood house.
We usually cook together or sometimes we provide for your food and you can cook in the yurta by yourself.
We offer a very beautiful landscape to have a walk or do trekking in the free time, a wonderful sea, the best place to practice climbing, swimming and reconnect yourself with nature.
Waiting for you!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will learn the basic permaculture practices, like bio-shredding, preserving the wood for the winter, mulch to protect the plants from heat. Also we need people who help us with general maintenance. We are artists, we work with the cinema and we like to play the guitar and sing, so we often organize little concerts in the yurta with friends of our community.

Help
We are at the beginning of our permaculture and medicinal herbs farm, so there are a lot of priorities. We just produce olive oil for our consumption, we still aren't a business activity, so we can't offer a monetary payment. In autumn we need help to pick the olives and bring them the crusher. In summer, we need creative and propositive people, who can help us also with farm design, socials, disposal of pruning, etc. Animals are not welcome, not yet because plants are still smalls. We don't have internet wi-fi, and we use the water well to cook, wash, shower and water the plants, so we require to not waste it, because during the summer it rarely rains.
