Our project is a makerspace, a space of open workshops. We offer a platform for education, empowerment and social encounters for refugees and locals in the region of Ioannina, northern Greece.
In 11 different working areas, we offer material, equipment and know-how for people to create solutions for their daily life problems, to share skills and unfold their potential. We believe that people are the experts of their lives. We don’t see people who fled their countries as helpless victims, but as talented and experienced men, women and children who can be an enrichment for our societies – if we provide the structures that allow them to integrate. This is what we aim to do on a small scale. The existing working areas are: wood, metal, bike repair, sewing, creative, medialab, plastic recycling, sports, electronics, kitchen -currently closed due to covid-19, library and garden.

Become a Workshop Supervisor!
Our project is an ever changing environment and consequently the type of involvement we need is not always the same from month to month. At the moment we need workshop supervisors in: Bicycle repair, IT and sewing.
PLEASE DO NOT apply if you do not have skills that relate to these areas.
Our Workshop Supervisors are responsible for managing the workshop so that people have the opportunity to use it independently, but also to gain and enhance their skills. Our Workshops are heavily used with both very skilled individuals coming to use the space, as well as people who have no experience yet.
Some of the tasks are: facilitating the creation of projects and repairs, organize guided workshops, procurement of materials, communicate with the makers, contribute in project's fundraising 1h a week, be part of decision making and team meetings, contribute in general tasks (reception, cooking and cleaning).
