Welcome traveller, we are happy that you visit our profile :D
A little bit about us:
With our hostel we want to offer a nice, relaxed and familiar place for travellers from all over the world to make them feel home outside of home.
I'm Maria and together with my team I'm trying to achieve that. 7 years ago I had the idea to open this hostel while taking my studies in tourism. Finally this dream came true when I found this place.
I always wanted a place where people from all over the world can meet, exchange cultures and live in a familiar environment. So we don't make any difference where you come from. We don't make a difference in your sex, your race, your religion, your sexual orientation or your culture. We all live in one world and so we want the whole world connected.
The hostel has a unique colonial style, a nice large garden with hammocks, a common area with rocking chairs and deck chairs and a TV to relax and free internet access. We offer private rooms with private bathrooms as well as two dorms with three shared bathrooms.

You can learn Spanish while interacting with us and get to know local people and their way of living.
We are looking for motivated people who want to help us improve our hostel. We are open to any idea you have. At the moment we need:
- An artist or creative person who is motivated to give our rooms an unique and beautiful touch. We need someone who can paint some walls in the rooms, the reception area & the common area (or where ever you feel painting is needed). You can bring in your own ideas. We want to paint the rooms acording to their names (Asia,Oceanía, Europe, Africa & America).
- Someone who can help to make our garden look even more beautiful.
- A person who is willing to do some reception work and marketing. Keep host profile updated, answer to messages from Workawayers (we try to improve as we know how annoying it is when we take so long to answer!)... And any other way you can think of to help us :-).
- TEACHING ENGLISH and/or French to me and the staff.
You don't need to have all the skills mentioned above, but it would be good if you have some experience in some of them.
If you don't speak any Spanish no problem, you will learn it here!
P.S.: The person who answers Workaway applications does not always speak English (or Spanish!). If it's not too much effort for you it would be great if you could write the most important things in both languages. Consider it a great practice :D If it's not possible don't worry, we will find a way :-).
We offer a bed in a dorm. There is a kitchen you can use. You can take one of the two bicycles if you need it and you will get a discount on the drinks we sell (water, softdrinks and beer).
Leon is one of the oldest cities in Central America. It has unique colonial style and a lot of cultural activities to offer. You can visit 12 churches, museums and art galeries. The most famous one is the Cathedral located in the heart of the center. From here you need 5 minutes to get there.
Close to the cathedral you will find the nightlife scene of Leon. There are a lot of restaurants and bars, karaoke clubs and discos you can visit. Just around the corner is the Casa de Cultura where you can take Salsa or Spanish lessons.
Moreover you find anything you need in short distance, 1-2 minutes walk (delicious and cheap food, bars, supermarket, laundry service, pharmacy, office supply shop & a great tour operator just on the opposite side).
Around Leon you can hike 4 volcanos. The beach is about 20 km away. In your free time you can take the local bus to go there (takes about 40 minutes). There is a lot to see and to explore.
