    Description

I am a lecturer and my husband is a banker. We live in Maros. We provide a room with a bed and a personal bathroom in our home in Maros, a small town next to Makassar, about 15 minutes from the airport.

Travelers can teach English to Hospitality students that I teach. Most of them don't speak English, so I need the travelers to practice basic English with them, especially daily conversations. It is mostly 3 times a week, 3 hours/day teaching my students and once a week shooting English-teaching videos for my YouTube channel, 1-2 hours/day. Totally you will volunteer 10-11 hours a week. I shoot amateur videos, so we can do it casually.

We have rice at home which you can cook anytime using the rice cooker. When I cook, we can have a meal together, but when I don't, there are plenty choices of food near home. There is also a mall about 5 minutes from home. The previous travelers usually just walk there, although I'd prefer the public transportation that costs about Rp8.000/trip ($0.5) to the mall.

The travellers can interact with Indonesians a lot, they may even learn Indonesian Language. They will eat Indonesian food everyday and learn to cook it. Here, we have 2 big ethnic groups, Buginese and Makassarese with a lot of cultures which can only be found in Makassar.
