Description
We are a family business specialized in planning personalized tours for our clients. Our specialty is to provide camp trips for scientists (geologists, archeologists, botanists) and tourists (from 1 day trip to 2 weeks with all kind of activities). We aim to fulfill everyone's wishes and build unforgettable experiences and memories.
We are looking for volunteers to help us build our online reputation and grow our business.

Depending on the respective trip, you will see different parts of the Sultanate of Oman. You will work together with Omani people and be part of the family. As you will meet different kinds of travelers, you will not only learn about the country you are visiting but also the cultures of the people you are interacting with.

We wish to meet you soon to offer you an unforgettable stay in the Sultanate of Oman. You'll be part of our family business.

What we expect from you in return is :

- for office tasks : help us in digital marketing, pictures and video (going with the staff to places for photo & video shoot)

- for camping work : to assist our team with entertain with our guest and helping them, shopping, organizing, making photos, making fire, setting up and breaking down the camp and sometimes driving a car. Your tasks will vary a lot, so it will never be boring. You'll never be alone so if there's something you are not able to do, don't worry, our team will be here to show you and help you.

Accommodation
We always doing out door trip, you'll sleep in our mobile campsite. Of course, you will have your own tent. You will have food for free together with the group and our crew. If you can, bring your own sleeping bag.
Don't forget to take warm clothes (jacket, socks, long pants, long sleeves) because sometimes we will sleep in the mountain and nights are very cold there.
What else ...
In Muscat, there's a lot of places to visit. in Muscat, you can either us a public transportation, Otaxi or rent a car to do your own tour.

While on Camping : You'll visit the most beautiful places in Oman and enjoy swimming in wadi, sea, hiking in mountains...

I got more than I could ever ask for volunteering with Mansoor and his team Hamed and Waleed. They took such good care of us; they went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome in Oman and they were funny. They made my trip!

Volunteering with Mansoor and the team provided the perfect introduction to the country; to the culture, its many different landscapes and how to get around.

As Mansoor says, it’s a family business. From the start he was very relaxed and kept things very simple. He was easy to get hold of, patient answering my many questions before I arrived and flexible when I had to change my dates. He also checked in to see that I had everything I needed and that I was having a good time.

His team gave me a really warm welcome which started with a big smile from Hamed, despite having to collect me late at night from the airport. I knew then that I was going to be in good hands.

Our 13 day camp hosted 14 Dutch geologists. There were four of us running the camping side of things; two from Mansoor’s team, myself and another volunteer (who I first met through the ‘friends’ chat function on the Workaway website). Having two volunteers worked really well and it was a good way to be with someone else also exploring the country for the first time.

Each day we went to a new site which was a great way to see the different types of landscape; rocks, sand dunes, coast. As volunteers we helped with packing down the camp, going shopping for food, setting up the next camp, cooking and preparing food. There was a lot of driving (mostly by the team) but that’s because Oman is a big country. I was a bit nervous before about not being a great cook but the team accommodated this and we all played to our strengths.

I enjoyed the volunteering because there was lots to do but it was all very relaxed, with simple routines and a lot of laughter. When there was time in the day the team sometimes took us to see a few sites too. The tourists were really friendly and a lot of fun. It was a great opportunity to learn a bit about geology and Dutch culture which was a complete bonus.

Thank you Mansoor, to you and your team for making my trip so memorable. I won’t forget Omani hospitality.
