    Description

We have been working on permaculturing our 7 acre property over the past 3 years. We have an aquaponics system in place, goats, chickens, horses, composting. The goal is to feed all the humans and animals from what is produced on the farm. If there is surplus then we share with our neighbors. We are in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Hiking, music and waterfalls are abound.

Permaculture and husbandry concepts from a technical perspective will be learned. The bigger picture is the diversity of people who come through our property. Our town is the 41st Appalachian Trail Community and the birthplace of country and folk music. Add in some hikers, locals and tourist and who knows where the conversation goes. We participate in the community garden, trail maintenance and the hiker community. There are a plethora of opportunities to plug into here.
