Description
This is an animal sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and caring for abused, abandoned, and sick animals. We provide a safe, loving home for neglected or injured stray dogs, ensuring they receive the care and compassion they deserve.
Unlike traditional shelters, we do not confine dogs to cages. Instead, they live together in packs, separated only by size. This approach minimizes stress for the dogs, allowing them to socialize and thrive in a more natural and comforting environment.
We focus on comprehensive care, including neutering, microchipping, and medical check-ups in collaboration with local vets.
We are committed to finding forever homes for our dogs through fostering and rehoming in Cyprus and abroad. Our mission is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and sustained through fundraising events and community contributions, ensuring these animals receive the good life they deserve.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Volunteering with us offers a unique cultural exchange experience. You'll work alongside locals and international volunteers, learning about animal welfare practices in Cyprus while immersing yourself in our island's rich culture and traditions.
Outside of your work, you can explore Cyprus' stunning landscapes, historic sites, and vibrant local communities. Share meals, stories, and experiences with our team, creating lasting friendships and memories.Help
We are looking for on-site volunteers to support our work at the sanctuary.
The tasks include:
- Feeding and caring for the animals
- Cleaning and maintaining the facility
- Assisting with medical care and treatments
- Helping with fostering, rehoming programs, and fundraising activities
Your help ensures our animals receive the love and care they need.Languages
Languages spoken
German: Fluent
English: FluentThis host offers a language exchange
At our sanctuary, English is the primary language spoken, ensuring smooth communication for all. Many of our volunteers are German, so German is also widely used. This creates an excellent opportunity for Workawayers to practice or improve their English or German skills while connecting with an international team!Accommodation
Currently, we offer a very simple trailer with a bed and shelves for volunteers. It’s basic but cozy, providing a comfortable space to rest after a day of helping at the sanctuary.
A car is available for use, but a valid driver’s license is essential, as the shelter is in the mountains. The nearest city is just a 10-minute drive away.
Currently, our volunteer team is working on upgrading the accommodation to a fully equipped caravan with more amenities to enhance your stay!
