    Description

Hello! I We have a house in the countryside of Pará state, in a town called São Miguel do Guamá. It is a calm and friendly place, surrounded by nature, and it has regular and inexpensive bus connections to Belém, the capital of Pará, which makes it easy to explore the region.

My project is mainly about taking care of the house and the garden. I am looking for Workawayers who are happy to help with general cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning the house, cutting the grass, and keeping the garden tidy. The work is not complicated, but it requires care, responsibility, and a positive attitude.

In exchange, Workawayers will have the opportunity to experience life in the Brazilian countryside, enjoy a slower pace of life, and learn about local culture. São Miguel do Guamá is a good base for people who want to see a more authentic side of Pará while still having access to the city of Belém when they want.

I enjoy welcoming people from different cultures and believe Workaway is a great way to exchange experiences, learn from each other, and create a respectful and pleasant environment for everyone.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us as a Workawayer is an opportunity to experience daily life in the countryside of Pará and to understand Brazilian culture from the inside. You will be part of our family routine and get to see how people live, work, and connect with nature in this region. We are happy to share our traditions, food, language, and way of life, and to give you a realistic picture of rural life in northern Brazil.

We are a couple with a Brazilian wife and a foreign husband, and cultural exchange is already part of our everyday life. We are raising our daughter in a hybrid cultural environment and believe strongly in the value of interacting with people from different countries and backgrounds. By hosting Workawayers, we hope to show her the importance of openness, curiosity, and mutual respect, while also giving our guests a genuine family experience.

We will interact closely with Workawayers, include them in meals, conversations, and daily activities, and make sure they feel welcome and part of our family rather than just helpers. In return, we enjoy learning about other cultures, languages, and perspectives, and sharing ideas about family life, education, and the world. We believe this exchange enriches everyone involved and creates meaningful connections beyond the work itself.

We are looking for an individual or a small group (one to three people) who are seeking a quiet and calm place to rest, and who would also appreciate having a peaceful space to work while traveling through the state of Pará. We also want to learn about their experiences.

Volunteers will stay with our family and share daily life with us whenever we are at home. We enjoy spending time together, exchanging cultures, and making Workawayers feel welcome as part of our home.

From time to time, we may be away from the house, but during these periods we stay in contact and trusted local friends will visit regularly to make sure everything is fine and that volunteers feel safe and supported.
