Description
Hello!
My family and I live in Gardiner, Montana which is at the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. We have millions of acres of national forest and national park to explore and the beautiful Yellowstone River running right past our house.
We have a hobby garden, chickens and a dog and with any luck, we'll have a new kitty fall 2026.
As a traveler on Workaway for years, I am especially excited to welcome others into our home.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
There are plenty of activities going on in our region. Gardiner is rather remote so having access to a vehicle will be important for your personal exploration. We are happy and eager to share opportunities to see the ways of the west and Montana specifically with our guests. Livingston is our closest stoplight (50 miles away) and Bozeman is our closest big shopping area with stores like Target, Walmart, Lowes and Costco (90 miles away).
There are art shows and museums, rodeos in the summer, skiing in the winter, summer and winter markets, and much more. Plus, all the hiking and backcountry exploring you can do!
Help
We need help caring for our dog, Samara and our 13 chickens. If you are helping us during the summer months, we would encourage Workawayers to enjoy the treats in our garden. We also would hope you watch over the property while we are absent.

We would love for an international speaker to use some of their native language in our home. We have 3 children and 2 adults who are interested in being around another language.
Accommodation
We have a guest cabin available that comfortably sleeps 2, but could accomadate a family with smaller children if you are comfortable with close spaces. Think really large camper van with no wheels. It is a log cabin, built by hand with a lofted bed space. Our family used to live in it but sadly outgrew the space as our littles multiplied and got bigger. It is a beautiful space! We look forward to sharing it with you.

What else ...
As I mentioned, having a vehicle is more or less, a must. There are no public transit options and ride shares are pretty limited. There is a locals message board but no guarantee of rides that way.
