Description
Busy, friendly family home in beautiful Hira, 15 to 20 minutes drive North of Nelson, surrounded by paddocks and native bush. We have four children, two at university and two teenagers at home. We love meeting people from all around the world.
We can transport anyone to and from Nelson and are often in town.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are a friendly well travelled family who can offer a true kiwi family exchange.
There may be opportunities to join in with various family activities. We enjoy music, discussing world events, science, arts, history and so on.
We like to exchange recipes and have dinner around the table.
We are sailors and have our own yacht in Nelson, there may be an opportunity to go sailing.Projects involving children

Help
3 hours of work per day including weeding and weed control, cleaning around the house (outside and inside), general gardening, a bit of farm work (our place is only a couple of hectares), odd jobs such as helping with various projects we have.

A classic caravan with a comfortable new mattress . The caravan has power, with a toaster and jug. Shared bathroom in the house, right next door.
Pleasant, picturesque setting in a quiet peaceful location, with native bush with many native birds. Our neighbours do have a rooster; we live in the countryside!
We provide at least one meal a day; we like to have dinner together around the table and can cater to vegetarians.What else ...
Nelson has a lot to offer; mountain biking, hiking, Abel Tasman park, boating, a vibrant arts scene, lovely scenery, a good place to hang out and then travel onto other places in NZ.

The accomodation in the cozy caravan was nice with the birds singing around.
We enjoyed the delicious BBQ and the chats and our son loved it to play with the same aged son of the host. The other 3 children are very polite and well educated as well.
