  Description

  We have a small hobby farm 2 hours from Melbourne in North East Victoria. We are semi retired, live in an off grid home with a productive garden and property - sheep, chooks, vegetable garden etc. Our 5 children have left home - travelling / some doing workaways !. We’re keen to have 2 people for short term stays ( initially couple of weeks at a time ) to work with us on gardening, property maintenance.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We have travelled reasonably widely and have experienced the joy of being welcomed into the homes / lifes of people in other countries.
  We wish to reciprocate this and would hope that we can share with other travellers alittle of Australian hospitality. There is a lot to see and experience in north east Victoria and we would gladly support workawayers to travel ( whilst with us) . We are on a train line ( 2 hours to Melb ) and close to many beautiful destinations. We are keen touring cyclists and would especially welcome tourers .

  You will generally be working with us on gardening and property maintenance tasks and depending on your skills cooking and possibly food preserving . You will be learning skills associated with these tasks

  Accommodation

  We have one spare bedroom for workawayers to use ( 2 single beds or double) and you would have a separate bathroom / toilet. These facilities are in our family home and you would share kitchen , lounge, laundry etc. There is a swimming pool. We propose that generally we will eat together .

  We would be happy to assist our workawayers to travel during their time with us. We have bikes that you could use and happy to assist in anyway to make the experience mutually rewarding
