Hi, I am Argentinian, 47 years old, father, running the hostel for 10 years. I love my job, and ussualy I need somebody helping me.
Sometimes i.need help for my own house, and not for the hostel, for gardering, building or some other manual job.
I like help from only 1 or 2 people, no more.I prefer to go home early at night staying at breakfast time to guide people to nice places and socialize.

I have 15 years living in Brazil, always in Paraty. Into the hostel, and out too, I try to show to customers and helpers (I did work with some of them for long time), the things that I know about the local culture, places around, communities, foods, people, etc.
This is not just the "brazilian experience". Is also about the Paraty own culture reflected in traditions, way of life in general, music, etc etc.
It was amazing for me all this years, and for some other people that stay living here permanently after a time working or after a hostel stay.
Some consumers begin as neighbors, some helpers end up staying , and some other costumers begin helpers and employees, and even one wants to keep this hostel .....
I love Paraty, I choose 14 years ago for living, I'm still discovering and I like to show it.
We need help with our guests - interacting and assisting with guest relations at reception, guiding them, general helping in the house, maintenance, night stay (just sometimes when somebody arrives late)

Bed in shared room. The hostel is not party hostel so nights are calm for sleeping. Good breakfast included, and some other meals (when I cook everybody is included)
Paraty is beautiful town sorrounded by amazing beaches, waterfalls, islands, local communities with own culture so it is very interesting exchange of cultures and experiences, etc. The transport to this places starts at 50 mts from the hostel, in the main bus station, or 300 mts to the city center. In terms of culture, is the richer place that I found in Brazil.
The low season is full of many diferent events, about literature, jazz & blues, painting, cinema, photograph, cachaça (national licor, the best is produce here), eco fashion, lathin music, acoustic music, dance, etc. There is long traditional partys, mixed with all this events. You never stop getting culture here....just if you want.
