    Description

I live on a lifestyle block on the edge of Upper Hutt , 45 min from Wellington, the Kapiti Coast and the Wairarapa. I have 2 teenagers / young men (16 and 18), 2 dogs and a cat. I work from home as an executive coach and away as a family mediator. I also offer life coaching and mini retreats. I live on 2 acres of land by the river and there's always things to do around the yard and house and a helping hand appreciated! Perks of the place include access to a private river swimming hole (in summer), LOTS of fruit from the trees (in summer) and a sauna and outdoor bath (when it's cold).

I run an online rental on the property which you won't be involved with as this is run separately (I have a paid cleaner and manager etc) but worth mentioning as you're likely to meet other travelers from afar and near.

I used to host wwoofers for many many years until Covid and have had oodles of great experiences to share! I love having people from overseas and to share stories.

Tasks include (but are not limited to LOL): Lopping / pruning trees, weeding, mowing, maintaining paths, pulling gorse, general yard clean up or taking the dogs for walks and the odd bigger project (like spreading gravel on paths or tidying the toolshed). Inside tasks could be vacuuming, tidying drawers, painting, cleaning the kitchen and family area and cooking if you feel inspired!)

We're a pretty active household, I do yoga every day and we hit the gym (we have a membership we can share) and my flatmate goes for runs and outdoor workouts. He also loves to jam with other musicians and we've had plenty of in-promptu concerts (don't ask me - I'm about as melodic as a rock but love to listen to loud German punk bands - I do use headphones LOL!). We have a piano (needs a tune), plenty of guitars, a drum kit and other bits and pieces around.

I'm from Hamburg, Germany and have lived in NZ over 20 years. My flatmate is a musician. I have welcomed traveller's for over 11 of those, hosting wwoofers and rental guests (you won't be involved with the accommodation business). This is a friendly, laid back household with people coming and going so you'll likely meet other travelers. I work from home mostly so will be around. My boys go to school and are part time with their dad.
