    Description

I'm a French living in Chiloé for 3 years now, with my 2 Chilean/French daughters Andina (7) and Azadi (3). After years of travelling we settled in south Chile in the island of Chiloé, far from the city. Our personnal project was to start up a farm from scratch.
It has been very challenging, specially on a family level. After 2 years of building and making garden, we're reducing our goals and slightly changing them, focusing on finishing building details and building camping facilities.
In the course of 2 years we managed to build a little house, a little greenhouse, and a little garden as well as other facilities. We've been building all that almost by ourselves, with no previous skill but with strong will to learn and observe local rural life and techniques.

We still have some details to finish on the building or on the garden, tha's why we need some volunteers. If volunteer is skilled or good worker, I can propose extra cash for more work.
Also, we're looking for somebody willing to spend some months in the house taking care of it and our cats, while we'll be away from april to october.

We can offer food (breackfast - lunch - diner). We're not yet producing enough to feed totally the family hence most food is bought and is not organic stamped. However we try to buy from locals who usually grow organic. We're not veggetarian, eat occasionnally meat and daily dairies and eggs. We respect veggan diet, but we would like to avoid veggan volunteers because we found it a bit complicated last year to feed properly our volunteers given that we are not used to "think vegan". I hope I don't offend anyone.

Accomodation is basic : We have a big military-type tent. Dry toilets and hot shower available in our house, and kitchen is for shared use. It's in the middle of the wood, so in direct contact with nature.
There's not a fixed plan of the tasks, it will depend of material availability, period of the year, your abilities and skills... but here's a list of possible tasks:
Everyday watering the garden / Harvests / Preparing compost / weeding / Everyday gardening / Taking care of our children and spending time with them (they're lovely but are very time demanding) ...
And some construction, fencing, carpentry, plumbing, wood storing and choping for winter, painting, arts, etc.

In exchange, i hope the helper can return with a new experience either in carpentry or gardening. We are kin to share any knowledge we have acquired, because we strongly think that knowledge aimed at building a best futrure can have no price, like air or water...

In the free time we can help you to find some activities around, there are great trecking with very beautiful ocean view, pinguins watching, Virgin millenial forest treck, nature is very beautiful around.
But note we're quite far from the next city, 35km away. We can pick you up or leave you at the bus, but we're not going to the city very often during your stay except in case of emergency. There is a local bus 3 times a week, and sometimes locals can give you a lift.

4G here available with Entel, but not very reliable. We use a 4G modem to share wi-fi connection, which allows a faster internet but sometimes it gets very slow (usually at netflix movies watch-time when all houses around suck the signal)
