    Description

Welcome to Our Creative Space in Apoikia, Andros!

Hi! We’re Minky and Nikos – the founders of a small NGO based in the peaceful village of Apoikia, on the island of Andros, Greece. We live here with our 2-year-old son, Ivan, and our dog, Zulu.

Our nonprofit is dedicated to supporting youth culture, alternative sports, and the arts. We’ve created a unique community space that brings together creativity, movement, and connection.
    Our facilities include:

    - Accommodation for visitors and volunteers

    - Riding facilities for BMX, rollerblading, and skateboarding

    - A small café that serves as a chill space for visitors and locals

-Art exhibition areas for artists who want to showcase their work

    - Plenty of outdoor space we’re continuing to develop and care for

We're surrounded by beautiful nature – waterfalls, hiking trails, and beaches are all nearby, and the main town (Chora) is just 10 minutes away by car.

We’re looking for motivated volunteers to help with a variety of tasks around the property, including:

    - Creating and maintaining food gardens

    - Landscaping and planting flowers

    - Maintenance, cleaning, and cooking

    - Small-scale construction and improvement projects

If you're someone who enjoys hands-on work, loves being outdoors, and wants to be part of a meaningful, creative project in a truly special setting – we’d love to hear from you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We speak English, French, and Greek, so there’s plenty of chances to learn a few new words while you’re staying with us.

When it comes to social activities, we keep it laid-back. If you’re into BMX, Nikos is always up for a ride, and you can join him for a session.

If you’re into art, you're welcome to leave your mark on the place. Whether it’s painting murals, making mosaics, or getting creative with driftwood-anything goes! We’re always up for some artistic collaboration and love adding new pieces to the space.

We’re excited to share what we have with you but we also want to learn from you! Share your stories, ideas, or even teach us something new. It’s all about connecting, creating, and having fun together.

    Volunteer Tasks at Our Place

We're looking for friendly, hands-on volunteers to join us and help bring a variety of creative and practical projects to life. There’s always something that needs doing around here, and your contribution will be so appreciated! Some of the tasks you might get involved in include:

~Helping with the setup of a vegetable garden, a bit of landscaping, creating flowerbeds, weeding, and collecting rocks to outline garden areas

~Sweeping and tidying around the property, including the riding facilities

~Light construction tasks, painting, and general maintenance projects

~Getting the coffee shop ready for the season: cleaning, setting up the kitchen, creating menu boards, painting chairs, arranging tables and pergolas

~Clearing and organizing storage spaces to make room for future art exhibitions, moving furniture, and creating new usable areas

We provide the food and you’ll have your own private kitchen to cook for yourself, but when timing and energy align, we love to share meals together too. We’ll find a rhythm that works for everyone!

We welcome your creativity, initiative, and a positive attitude always! Whether you're into gardening, DIY projects, organizing, or just happy to lend a hand wherever it's needed, there’s a spot for you here 🙂
