    Description

We, a couple of 65 and 75 years, Claery and Enno, have a vast piece of land with old houses near Portovenere where we live half a year. Portovenere is an old village on the sea between the Cinque Terre (UNESCO world heritage site) and the Golfo dei Poeti. As we live on top of a hill, there is quietness around us and a busy Portovenere down the hill. We would be happy to share some time with a couple or young people with experience and interest help trimming bushes and trees which are Olive Trees, Fruit Trees and lots of Oleander to optimize and shape the landscaping and take care of the garden. So you should be handy with tools, which shouldn’t be left behind after doing tasks.
We have three grown children and six grandchildren, who go to school and thus are coming only during summer vacation. But in fall and springtime is the time to do the gardening, busy during sunny days, relaxed should it rain. Most important, you have to be happy with the help you do and enjoy your stay.
We can offer accommodation (room and bathroom) in a separate House on our property (see photos ) near the sea (also in October still swimming temperatures), 10 minutes walking to the beach and two little villages in walking distance. Next train station is La Spezia.
There is a lot to see and explore like Cinque Terre, hiking (begins just outside our gate) and any kind of excursions.

We are Germans, speaking English and Italian.
Apart from the activity described we do some sailing and excursions together with family and friends. At the beginning of October we harvest the olives. Afterwards the trees have to be trimmed. As we will spend the day together, we‘ll also show you around and give you ideas of what to do. There is another family down the road with Workawayers most of the time.

Every plant that we have like olive trees, fruit trees, Oleander that grow fast even though it’s raining less every year. We kept letting it grow, but now it’s time to cut them back. We’ll do it ourselves, have help from time to time, but in fall is the right time to do this properly.
