We are an international community in a beautiful setting with easy access to a vibrant city. We offer a friendly setting for improving linguistic skills, teamwork and being involved in a new international school.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
The school is open to students between September and July. During this time we require help: in the kitchen, cooking with the school chef (usually lunch with pudding) but also cleaning and washing dishes; supervising students in break-times and occasionally in lessons if the teacher is not there. We may also need occasional help with gardening, building maintenance or refurbishment.
We run an outdoor education centre which our students attend every Thursday to do many different activities (art lessons, science, forest walks etc). The workawayers usually accompany the students and teachers to the outdoor education centre where they supervise the students when necessary.
During the summer (3 weeks of July and August) the school is closed for students and teaching staff, but we are still looking for help during this time with gardening, building maintenance and some refurbishment. Sometimes we host summer schools or conferences which means that workawayers would be needed to help in the house (preparing rooms, cleaning or serving refreshments).
We are pushing education for sustainable development this term with a number of eco projects which we would love some help with.
We offer payment (at UK minimum wage, so dependent on age) for all work done for the business.
English, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese
Single bedrooms and shared bathrooms (we have a few twin rooms for couples/friends). Food is included in your stay: for lunch during the school term the chef cooks for everybody. For breakfast, dinner, weekends and holidays there is a shared kitchen for the workawayers to use. There is also access to a washing machine, WiFi and household linen is provided (towels and sheets).
The school is located in a medium-sized city and is 15 minutes walk away from the city centre (and train station). The city has a range of cultural and entertainment activities. Big cities such as Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff and Oxford are approximately one hour away from the school. The famous Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean are also nearby for sporting and outdoor activities.
