Description
Good day all. My name is Ted, and I am a Canadian living in Mexico, for over thirty years. I have a bayside property where I am building a natural saltwater swimming area and creating a refuge for wild birds. My location is just north of Chetumal, outside the village of Calderitas. There are abundant birds here, sea fowl and many tropical species. My passion is in ecological building and living close to nature. I have been involved in sustainable land development for many years in Quintana Roo, Mexico, and have many skills to share with like minded folk. I am looking for a couple who enjoy living in a natural environment who could help me with the creation of the pool, gardening, landscaping, feeding the birds and maintenance chores. I offer two meals daily with a communal kitchen, private room with Wifi, beach access and kayaks and would like to receive 25 hours per week of help, with weekends off. I would like a minimum stay of two weeks, although I would prefer for a longer stay being that we all get along well. My preference is to have a quiet couple, age is not an issue, who respect nature, privacy and tranquility.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I speak English and Spanish and have a good knowledge of the surrounding area of Mayan ruins, public markets and local services. The property is in a rural area with a paved road to the house and ten minutes from Chetumal, the capital of Quintana Roo. I am a builder and eco developer and willing to share some of my skills and insights. Tranquility and harmony are of the utmost importance to living in this environment.

Help
The help includes gardening, and keeping the grounds clean. There is a carpentry shop for those who enjoy woodworking, helping in the creation of a saltwater swimming area, creating large temporary housing areas for injured birds, not cages. Our goal is to assist birds in the wild. Musicians and artists are very welcome, even if your art is life itself!

Accommodation
I have a room with a double bed, a closet, a desk, with a bathroom down the hall. There is a common area kitchen, fridge, stove, appliances, coffee maker, blender, etc. with a tournament pool table in the middle of the room.

What else ...
I have three Belgium Shepherds that are very social, and who would love to swim with you in the bay. My preferance is that whoever joins into our project will respect the tranquility and serenity of the ambiance. With all of that in mind, I welcome you to join in a fun project in Calderitas!
