Description
Welcome to our place! 🐾
Hello, my name is Diana. After spending 20 years living in Greece, I decided to return to my hometown of Kalofer, Bulgaria, in 2019. In July 2021, I founded this Foundation, a project close to my heart, dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals in need.
Currently, I care for 12–15 cats and 118dogs, all rescued from the streets. Since October 2023, we’ve moved to a charming small village, just 23 km from Stara Zagora.
Our furry family is full of love! The cats are absolute darlings—if you sit down, expect to have a cat snuggling on your lap in no time! 😻
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for volunteers who share our passion for animals and are ready to help in various ways:
Professional Skills:
✔️ IT Specialist: Help us build a digital platform for the foundation (if feasible).
✔️ Digital Marketing: Manage our social media presence and create strategies to grow our audience.
✔️ Photographer: Capture moments of our animals and daily activities to share with the world.
✔️ Project Planner/Manager: Assist with organizing and writing grant applications or funded projects.
✔️ Animal Behaviorist: Support with training and understanding the needs of our dogs and cats.
Daily Tasks:
✔️ Dog Walking: Take the dogs for walks every day.
✔️ House & Yard Cleaning: Keep the living spaces clean and safe for the animals.
✔️ Gardening: Help maintain our outdoor spaces.
✔️ Handy Work: Assist with small repairs or projects around the property.
Life Here
The work can be challenging, but it’s incredibly rewarding. Once the daily tasks are done, we relax and have fun together. The area is peaceful and surrounded by nature, but big cities like Plovdiv, Kazanlak, and Stara Zagora are just a short trip away, offering opportunities to explore Bulgarian culture and history.
If you’re ready to join our mission, help our animals, and make a real difference, we would love to welcome you to our family! 🐾Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
At my home, you’ll have the chance to learn about Bulgarian traditions and experience authentic village life. We can also practice yoga together, take walks around town, visit a nearby lake, or explore the stunning mountain nature.
After work, we can relax and spend the evenings together—chatting, exchanging languages, enjoying a small fire, and, of course, always having a cat by your side 😊.
You’ll get a real feel for life in a Bulgarian village. Our small village has a local shop for essentials, and the nearest city with supermarkets is just 20 minutes away by bus.Help

Our home is located in a lively and authentic Bulgarian village, offering a true glimpse into rural life. Volunteers will have access to two cozy rooms on the second floor of the house. We have a small but functional kitchen where we can prepare meals together. The bathroom is located inside the house, while the toilet is outdoors, in keeping with traditional village style.
The house has a rustic charm, and while it might not offer all modern luxuries, it provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The village itself is vibrant, with friendly neighbors and a local shop for basic necessities just a short walk away. For larger supermarkets and city amenities, the nearest town is only 20 minutes away by bus. What else ...
In your free time, you can explore the nearby areas, such as Stara Zagora, a vibrant city with plenty to see and do, or Kazanlak, famously known as the "Town of the Bulgarian Rose." You can also visit Kalofer, a charming historical town nestled in the mountains, surrounded by breathtaking nature.
While I don't have a car, public transportation is available, and I’ll be happy to guide you on how to get around!A little more information
