    Description

Our farm has been in the family since 1893. On our small farm we grow vegetables, preserve and ferment food, make sourdough, kombucha and soaps/candles etc. We are restoring the old farm buildings and have projects that need construction, painting, gardening, weeding etc.
We are located a 5 minute walk from the main township of Waipu and are a short bike ride from Waipu Cove - known for it's surfing! Langs Beach and Mangawhai are worth visiting as are the Waipu Caves and Piroa Falls.
We are a family farm and have been hosting Wwoofers since April 2023 which has been an awesome experience. Mature travellers with some life experience and couples are most welcome. We'd love you to join our farm family!

Come and enjoy the great outdoors in NZ. Explore the local area, there is plenty to see and do in our part of the world and the scenery is stunning. Learn about life on a small farm and how we are attempting to turn it into a sustainable homestead where we produce our own food, store it, add value to it and make an income from things we make and sell to invest back into the farm. We are growing chemical free vegetables and farming organically.

    Help

We need general help around the farm, all kinds of projects from restoration and maintenance to some small construction jobs (we have been dreaming of a chook house!) plus setting up a space for homesteading workshops and a farm shop. Travellers with knowledge and experience in construction and DIY most welcome.
We want to make the farm look nice by painting old buildings, planting natives etc. If you like to cook we'd welcome you in the kitchen! There may be the opportunity to experience making sourdough bread, fermenting and preserving depending on our schedule. There may be the opportunity to help with some of our other homestead jobs such as baking bread, making preserves and ferments including kombucha if time allows.
We are looking for helpers that are mature and have some life experience, couples welcome and your own transport would be a bonus to get around the area to see the tourist spots.
