I would like to find a friendly, good natured lady, with a good sense of humour, (minimum age 25), to be a companion for my 81-year old mum. Some cooking will also be required - to prepare a hot meal for mum, a simple lunch and anything else she may require - hot drinks, hot water bottle, etc. There is no personal care required as she has carers both in the morning and evening. Marianne has lived all over the world and has some interesting stories to tell. Originally from Germany, she married an Englishman and has one daughter close by who you will meet from time to time. The accommodation is very cosy, with a vanity sink in your bedroom. The house is very close to the bus stop which will take you into Farnborough town or the train station that can take you to the South coast or London and Reading.

My mum lives alone but loves to have company. She has friends and family nearby and is used to having volunteers to stay. Originally from Germany, she is fluent in both English and German and would love to enjoy conversations in either language. She has a good sense of humour and enjoys a joke! Nothing is too much trouble and she will go out of her way to ensure you have a pleasant stay.
Marianne’s laundry - no ironing required
Cooking - an evening meal, managing the kitchen and some food shopping
You will have your own bedroom in the house. Wifi and Sky is available. My mum doesn’t have any pets.
There are many easy connections to London and the South of England from Farnborough. The bus stop is close to the house which will take you into the centre of town. There are a lot of interesting walks nearby and I have attached photos of the Basingstoke Canal and Saint Michaels Abbey. The town and nearby Aldershot have a history of aviation and military activity and museums are close by, (although not presently open due to Covid19).
There are trains to London from Farnborough, which is a town in north east Hampshire, England, part of the borough of Rushmoor and the Aldershot Urban Area. Farnborough was founded in Saxon times and is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. The name is formed from Ferneberga which means "fern hill".
PLEASE NOTE THAT, DUE TO THE RISK OF CORONAVIRUS, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TRANSPORT UNLESS YOU ARE A SHORT BUS RIDE AWAY, THANK YOU!
