    Description

Hi - we need someone with experience with animals to help us manage our many creatures, as well as to help out as necessary on other aspects of our farm. We need someone who can commit to a minimum of 2 months (assuming we all get on!). Driving license would be good.

We live in a beautiful setting on an 800 year old vineyard, forests, olive groves and we are transitioning to regenerative agriculture. Alongside the vines and olives we have sheep, chickens and rabbits, 2 horses, a cow, and have just got some geese cow (plus dogs and cats). We are also running a large "agritourismo" with accommodation and a fine restaurant. So we need some help!

We are looking for an "all-rounder" someone who can take on a variety of mostly outdoor jobs. This will mainly focus on the animals, and would feeding, cleaning, building or maintaining fences or structures, moving the animals to grazing, possibly milking sheep. But there may also be help needed with the vines, the olives, vegetable garden or the villa gardens. There is the possibility for some additional paid work, for example in the restaurant in the evenings.

Some of this work could be quite physical, so you will need to be fit. While we can teach you everything, past experience with animals or garden work/vegetables would definitely help. If you want to work longer hours, paid, there are opportunities for extra paid work in a restaurant or in the fields!

We are an Italo-English family, speaking both languages at home. So you could learn one or the other! We are a stone's throw from Siena, a cultural icon and alive with the passion of the local people and their famous Palio horserace. The countryside around is magical and brilliant for hiking and cycling. We are passionate about the environment and living sustainably.

You can get to language courses in Siena (its a 40-min walk, or a short walk and bus-ride, or a hilly bike-ride). Siena is the cultural hub and with an active university there are quite a lot of young people. Others just love the landscape here and we host groups who come to sing, do yoga, study, cycle...
