Description
We're a family of four, with 2 girls (13yrs & 11 yrs) living on a farm at the edge of the Otways in Deans Marsh, Victoria
We are located: 25 mins to the iconic Lorne beach & the Great Ocean Road & 1 & 1/2 hours to Melbourne (via car or train)
We're looking for energetic traveller(s) who love horses and children and have strong riding skills, ideally wanting a stay of at least 2 months.
We will have 8-10 horses in work for the Australian polo season from November to April and would love someone (a couple or two friends possible) to help out with:
- Feeding horses
- Putting horses on the Walker / RIding if skills are suitable
- Cleaning out yards & cleaning tack
- Grooming for Polo matches & training
You would have your own studio room, bathroom & kitchenette, access to a car when required (age-dependent), and the option to come to the main house (50 m away) for meals/hanging out as desired.
Located just 25 minutes from Lorne, our summer involves lots of riding in the local bush & visits to the beach to paddleboard, surf, and swim. We'd be happy to show you the region, including the Great Ocean Road (Torquay to Apollo Bay), other beautiful attractions nearby, as well as our closest cities, Geelong & Melbourne.
With other travellers working nearby, there is also an opportunity to meet people, socialise locally, and gain additional employment at Lorne, Deans Marsh, or Birregurra.
If you're interested in knowing more, we look forward to hearing from you. -

Buses & trains are available nearby for visiting local towns and exploring the region. Avalon airport is just under 1 hour away. A car would be available at certain times depending on the licence of the workaway visitor and availability.
