    About us:

We are a non profit social organization primarily for kids and youth but welcomes anyone who wants to visit our ranch with all the animals that live there. It has activities such as a forest riding school, weekly activities and summer camps. A big motto for us is learning by doing and we try to keep an open environment that leaves room for personal growth. We wish to encourage trying out new things, seeing errors as a natural part of learning, and by that give more confidence to the individual as well as finding new ways of doing.

A nice herd of elderly horses live here in an equine active retirement community, as well as goats, sheep, pigs, bunnies, guinea pigs, quails, dogs and cats.
Our connection to and being with the animals is based on their individuality. We use non hierarchical communication and as a way of being, meaning we listen to each other and values open communication.

The ranch is a place for kids to connect to animals, nature and each other. It can be lively during events but it is mostly a serene and quiet place, perfect for self reflection and creativity.
Teenagers assist in taking care of the horses and work during camps. Among our favorite things to do is ride the horses, play games, make our own pizza or sing songs by the fire.

*** APRIL & MAY: We would love someone to help us with a few building projects around the property this spring! So if you’re interested in the challenge of taking on some more responsibility / initiative and work more independently around DIY-building - please send us a message!
Ps. we value” learning by doing” and enthusiasm towards trying out new things and challenging yourself, so please don’t feel limited by experience levels! ***

We would like help with taking care of the animals; water, feed, clean and socialize. Also cleaning and taking care of the surrounding areas like plowing snow in the winter, decorating the forest paths in the summer or just keeping the yard good looking.

Other from that there are tasks such as smaller building projects for the animals and general maintenance of both the house and the animal enclosures. If you are handy there’s also some bigger building projects we’d love to get started with.

During our activities we wish that you are willing to meet the children and talk to them as well as possible, or try to socialize in other ways.

We expect you to take care of the house and do basic household chores. It’s only the volunteers living in the house so we’d like that you keep your living areas clean but would also appreciate aid with keeping the house tidy efter the daily activities.

We also have a barn with crafts so if you are crafty you can assist making crafts or helping the kids that are visiting.

We also want to increase our vegetable garden, we have lots of space but not so much experience.

Your work will be individualized from your interests and we will always be open to your suggestions.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have a cozy dormitory with 13 beds and a rustic cabin with 6 beds. The cabin is good for a private place during the summer. The house has a wood-burning sauna.
During camps food is cooked for all participants and workers but at other times it is just the people helping there that eats at the house, that has a fully functional kitchen. There is always a vegetarian meal-choice and we aim to cook as much vegetarian as possible.
This is non-smoking, alcohol and drug free ranch.
We do not have Wi-Fi available.
Washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen, linens and beddings are available.
Unfortunately our house is not suited for small children during the winter, but depending on the individual can be possible during the summers.
