    Description

We are a small non-profit association based in the French countryside, in the Limousin region of southwest-central France. Our aim is to help people facing difficulties while promoting a simple, healthy and sustainable way of life connected to nature and to other people.

We live on a rural property with a garden, vegetable garden, trees and woodland. There is always something small to do: gardening, maintaining the grounds, caring for the vegetable garden, working around the property, or simply helping us develop our sustainable projects.

But this is not a farm and we are not looking for full-time workers. We are looking for people who would enjoy sharing a few hours of their time, learning, exchanging ideas and participating in a meaningful community project.

Depending on your interests, you could also participate in the association itself: helping with activities for people in difficulty, social projects, communication, environmental projects, or simply sharing ideas and experiences.

We are particularly interested in meeting open-minded, respectful and independent people from different countries and backgrounds. You don't need to have special skills. Motivation, curiosity and a willingness to participate are much more important.

In exchange, we can offer accommodation, meals and the opportunity to experience rural French life, discover the Limousin countryside and become part of our project for the duration of your stay.

I am the president of NGO and coordinate the association. I also work in IT and am developing my own DevOps business, so I am increasingly focusing my role on coordinating the association, welcoming people and developing the project rather than doing everything myself.

If you are looking for a place where you can slow down, enjoy nature, meet people and contribute to something useful, you may feel at home here. 🌿

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange is an important part of our project. 🌍

We are interested in welcoming people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds and creating an environment where everyone can share their experiences, ideas and way of life.

During your stay, you will have the opportunity to experience everyday rural life in France, discover the Limousin countryside, learn about French food, nature and local traditions, and practice your French if you wish.

In return, we would love you to share your own culture with us: your country, language, food, traditions, experiences, music, ideas and perspectives. We particularly enjoy conversations about society, nature, sustainability, technology, travel and different ways of living.

The NGO also has an international outlook. We want to build connections between people from different parts of the world around solidarity, sustainable living and human connection.

You will have your own time and independence, but we hope that we can also share meals, conversations, walks, activities and projects together.

The goal is not simply to exchange work for accommodation, but to meet people, learn from each other and create genuine human connections. 🌱🌍🤝

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for a little help with our rural property and, more importantly, people who would like to participate in the life of our association. 🌱

Around the property, help may include:

gardening and taking care of the vegetable garden
    planting, weeding and harvesting
    maintaining the park and paths
light work around the woodland and natural areas
helping keep outdoor spaces clean and pleasant
occasional small DIY or maintenance tasks

Within the association, you may also participate in:

activities supporting people who are experiencing difficulties
    social and community activities
    environmental and sustainable-living projects
    communication and social media
    developing new ideas and projects

There is no large amount of work and we are not looking for someone to replace an employee. The idea is to contribute a reasonable amount of time each day while having plenty of time to relax, explore the countryside, learn, exchange ideas and enjoy the experience.

Your interests and skills are welcome, but motivation, kindness, reliability and curiosity are more important than experience.

We are particularly interested in people who would like to experience a different way of life, connect with nature and contribute to a small association with a social and environmental purpose. 🌿🤝

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will stay in our large rural family home in the Limousin countryside, surrounded by nature, gardens, trees and woodland. 🌿

We have a spacious house with plenty of common areas, including a kitchen, living spaces and outdoor areas where you can relax and enjoy the countryside.

Depending on availability and the length of your stay, you will have a private or shared bedroom and access to the shared facilities of the house, including the kitchen, bathroom and living areas.

Meals are provided as part of the exchange, and we are happy to share meals together when possible. We can also accommodate people who enjoy cooking and would like to prepare food from their own country or culture.

The property is in a quiet and rural location, so it is particularly suitable for people who enjoy nature, peace and a slower pace of life. It is not a city environment, and access to shops and public transport is limited.

In your free time, you can enjoy the garden and surrounding countryside, read, study, work remotely, relax or explore the region.

The atmosphere is informal and family-like, while respecting everyone's privacy and independence. 🌱

  • What else ...

    What else ...

A few things that may be useful to know before applying: 🌿

This is a quiet rural environment, rather than a tourist destination or a busy hostel. We welcome people who genuinely enjoy nature, peaceful surroundings and meaningful conversations.

We are particularly interested in welcoming independent, respectful and open-minded people who are comfortable sharing a home with others and taking initiative when appropriate.

You don't need to speak perfect French. English is welcome, and we enjoy the opportunity to communicate across languages and cultures. 🇫🇷🌍

We are happy to welcome people with different interests and backgrounds. Previous experience in gardening or DIY is useful but not required. What matters most to us is reliability, kindness, curiosity and a willingness to participate.

Because the property is rural, having a driving licence can be useful, although it is not essential.

We also value personal time. You will not be expected to spend all your time working with us. The idea is to have a balanced exchange, with time for your own activities, rest, exploration and cultural exchange.

Finally, this is a small association that is still developing. If you have ideas, skills or projects that could contribute to our social, environmental or community work, we would be very happy to hear them.

We are looking forward to meeting people who want to share a little part of their journey with us. 🌱🤝🌍

Digital nomads are welcome. 💻🌿 We understand that many Workawayers may have their own remote work, studies or online projects. We are happy for you to organise your working hours around your own schedule, as long as we agree together on the times when you will help with the project. The house is in a quiet rural area, which can be very suitable for focused work. Wi-Fi is available in the house, although people who need a very high-performance or business-critical connection should let us know in advance. We encourage a good balance between remote work, helping with the association, enjoying nature and having time for yourself. There is no expectation that you will be available all day. If you are working online, studying, developing a project or running your own business, feel free to tell us about it when you apply. We are particularly interested in meeting people who enjoy technology, entrepreneurship, sustainability and international exchange. The principle is simple: we find a schedule that works for everyone. 💻🌱

  • Space for parking camper vans

    Space for parking camper vans

Camping and motorhomes 🌿🚐 We have a large rural property with outdoor space where, depending on the season and ground conditions, it may be possible to stay with a tent, campervan or motorhome. The setting is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with access to the facilities of the house. Workawayers staying outside can use the house for the agreed shared facilities, including the kitchen and bathroom. We can discuss the practical arrangements before arrival, particularly for larger motorhomes or longer stays. The property is rural, so this is a simple countryside experience rather than a campsite with dedicated tourist facilities. 🌱 If you prefer to sleep in the house, accommodation may also be available depending on the dates and the number of Workawayers we are hosting.

He carries himself like a philosopher who happens to be a cat. 🐈‍⬛📚

    Rocket (6 years)

Rocket is a red German Shepherd with a striking reddish coat and darker markings. He is intelligent, loyal, energetic, and highly protective of the people he trusts.
