    Description

My name is Gabriele, I am 32 years old and I am from Italy. I have spent several years travelling and living abroad, especially in Australia and Asia. These experiences have had a strong influence on my way of seeing life, creativity and cultural exchange.

About a year ago, I returned to Italy and started creating my own creative space in the Sicilian countryside. I live in a renovated country house surrounded by nature, with a small vegetable garden and large outdoor spaces where you can relax and spend time together. The atmosphere is informal, peaceful and creative.

On the property, I have also created a small screen-printing and textile-printing workshop, where I work on artistic projects, prints and T-shirts. It is a space for experimentation, learning and creative exploration.

    The Project

This is a non-commercial cultural and artistic exchange project.

I am looking for artists, designers and other creative people who are interested in spending some time in Sicily, living in the countryside and sharing their skills, ideas and creative experiences.

The idea is to create a temporary creative community where we can:

Exchange ideas and skills: talk about different artistic techniques, creative processes and ways of working.
Work on creative projects: use the workshop and the available space to experiment, create and possibly collaborate on new projects.
Share everyday life: cook together, spend time outdoors, explore the surrounding area and experience a slower rural lifestyle.
Learn from each other: everyone can bring their own experience, background and creative perspective.

The goal is not simply to provide accommodation, but to create a genuine cultural and creative exchange between people who are interested in art, making things and sharing experiences.

You do not need to follow a specific artistic style. What matters most is being open-minded, respectful, curious and genuinely interested in creating and sharing.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

What I am looking for above all is an artistic and creative exchange. I would like to welcome people from different backgrounds and work together on creative projects, sharing techniques, ideas and inspiration. I can share my experience in screen printing, textile printing and handmade artistic processes, while I am also interested in learning new techniques and perspectives from the people who come here.

Beyond the artistic side, I would like to share everyday life in the countryside: cooking together, working in the vegetable garden, enjoying the food we grow and exploring the local area and community. For me, the most valuable part of the experience is the mutual exchange — bringing together different cultures, artistic backgrounds and ways of thinking to create something new together.

    Help

I would like to meet people from different countries and creative backgrounds who are interested in sharing their ideas, skills and perspectives with me. I am especially interested in people involved in art, photography, fashion, music, but I am also open to anyone who is genuinely curious and motivated to learn.

I would like us to work together on creative projects, experiment with screen printing and textiles, exchange techniques and potentially create artworks, prints, photographs, videos or other projects together.

I can share my knowledge of screen printing, textile printing and handmade creative processes, while I hope to learn new techniques, ideas and artistic approaches from the people who come here.

I would also like Workawayers to take part in everyday life at the house: helping with the garden, sharing meals, exploring the local area and experiencing rural life in Sicily.

I am not looking for someone to simply follow a fixed programme. I prefer an open and collaborative approach where everyone can contribute their own ideas and skills.

For me, the most important things are **curiosity, creativity, respect, independence and a genuine interest in cultural and artistic exchange**.

The idea is simple: you bring your culture, experience and creativity here, I share mine, and together we create something that neither of us would have created alone.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

I live in a fully renovated countryside house, with every part of the ground floor recently restored. There are two bedrooms: one with three single beds and another with a sofa bed. There is also a shared bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining area with a table.

Outside, there is a large garden where you can relax and spend your afternoons, with outdoor chairs and a hammock. It is a peaceful place surrounded by nature, ideal for slowing down, enjoying the countryside and spending time outdoors.

I can provide fresh, tasty and healthy ingredients for meals from breakfast to dinner. You will have access to a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils and equipment needed to prepare your own meals.

The house is simple and comfortable. It consists of:

    a shared kitchen
    a bathroom with shower
    one bedroom
a living room with a sofa bed
    a large outdoor garden

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The house is located in the countryside, so it is a quiet and peaceful place where you can enjoy nature and disconnect from the busy city life. In your free time, you can explore the surrounding area, visit nearby towns and villages, go for walks, or simply relax in the garden.

I value a relaxed, respectful and open-minded atmosphere. I expect everyone to contribute to keeping the shared spaces clean and tidy and to respect the house, the surrounding environment and the other people staying here.

Having your own car can be useful because public transportation in the countryside is limited, but I can help with transportation when possible. Most importantly, I would like everyone to feel at home while respecting the shared spaces and the simple lifestyle of the house.

    LAPO (8 years)

Lapo is a very sweet and affectionate dog. He loves being petted, enjoys eating, and is always happy to follow me wherever I go. He is very sociable and loves being involved in everything I do, so he will probably be your little companion during your stay.
