We live in a co-housing community where we are well connected to our neighbours. You will surely meet many of them. Our family likes to be creative through art and music. We are learning about some permaculture practices and how to grow organically, and we would love to learn with you.

    Help

We are looking for someone to live with us who loves kids and can entertain our preschool aged child for a couple of hours each day, do the odd cooking/cleaning, and help on our farm! We have a small plot where we are growing vegetables and flowers as a hobby. We enjoy getting out on the plot whenever we can and would love some help (weeding, invasive species removal, bed prep, irrigation laying, seed sowing, transplanting, harvesting, etc.).

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have an upstairs loft-style room with a bed and private bathroom.

We plan to provide for all meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner, every day of the week (including weekends). Most weekdays our workawayer can expect a cooked meal for dinner and that we will eat all together. This will be a great time to connect with our workawayer. We will have ingredients for breakfast, such as bread, oatmeal, coffee, spreads, etc. that can be taken as needed. Same with lunch time. Lunch usually consists of any leftovers or ingredients we have in the fridge to cook. Any days that we cannot provide a meal we will have ingredients available for our guest to cook.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are wonderful bike and walking paths along the Vedder river. The nearest cafe is a 30-minute bike ride away. The grocery store is a 35 minute ride. There is a bus stop not far from our home. However, service is not frequent and we have not used it before as we typically drive our car to run errands. When the weather is good biking is certainly the most enjoyable option (and we have a bike available for you!). Additionally, in late spring through early fall there is a small market in the park beside our home, with food trucks and simple live music.
