    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Firstly we offer a language exchange. Also in this region there are many indigenous people/hill tribes that live in villages. You can go to these villages and see their way of life, their traditions, and even their cemeteries.

We hope by hosting you we can learn about each other!

    Help

I run a guesthouse/trekking company and employ 4 Khmer staff who you will help with various duties. The Khmer staff take care of most duties but we would like some help from you in exchange for accommodation and 3 local Khmer food/meals a day. We would like some light help with tasks around our guesthouse. Tasks include-gardening, art/murals, computer skills (help me make a website/ advertising), cooking lessons about Western meals and how to do cocktails (if you have skills on that), assisting the staff with English to sign in guests. If I am in town, help with some carpentry and building, fence tasks. There are always Khmer staff on site.
We also would love to exchange language skills-our staff speak a little English are are keen to learn more! And you can learn Khmer!

Work hours are up to 25 hours per week-Monday to Friday, preferably in the morning when it is coolest or at dusk. You have the whole weekend to yourself-you can go trekking/swimming/rafting animal watching, see gibbons etc.

There are two levels and there two balconies-these are lovely to sit on do any work you have/drink coffee/relax.

The beds are large 4 poster beds with thick mattress and a mosquito net. All rooms have a fan-it is very cool here so you don't need a/c.

The rooms are lockable, you will have your own key.

FOOD- In exchange for the work you do, we provide 3 meals a day of home cooked local Khmer food. We also have a menu with western food you can buy if you miss food from home :)

We are located 40 mins drive from the town of Ban Lung. This region is famous for its beautiful jungle/scenery, gem mines and gold finding the traditional way, trekking in the famous Virachey National Park , traditional bamboo rafting, animal watching-wild yellow cheek-crested gibbon spotting in the Vuensai-Siem Pang National Park, rivers/lakes and indigenous tribes. It has a rich cultural heritage.
The weather is very cool and can be cold at night, people love that its not too hot here!

Lastly, the area is famous for its Red Earth-the name is"dey krahorm"-this literally means Red Earth, because the area is covered in red earth. It is a beautiful colour and you can take many photographs!

PLS NOTE- whilst we cannot help you with your visa to enter Cambodia, we can help you with visa extension.

Once we have determined your stay with us, we can pick you up from Ban Lung bus station. The bus arrives daily.
