    Description

I live in an old Italian farm from 1600 and I am absolutely in love with it! The whole construction is all natural and build to last a long time. I have a vegetable garden and many other projects in and outside of the house that would be more fun to do together!
My house is in a very small village, but there is a coffee bar and the possibilities to go for many walks/hikes starting from my house. There are often local feasts that we can go to and the nature here is absolutely fantastic! There is no street light on my road so you can see all the stars in the evening and are really aware of which cycle of the moon it is, since the moonlight is what is lighting up the night/evening.
Since the house is build in 1600 there is no central heating but a wood stove to warm up the house. Also the boiler is heated up by wood for warm water.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I am a native dutch person living in Italy and I speak English, Dutch and Italian at a high level, my French and German is more at a basic level. I am trying to integrate well into the local community here so I would love to take you to local lectures, local dance classes, movies, feasts and other get togethers that happen here. My neighbours are beekeepers (organic and beefriendly) and two of my friends are shepherds, if you are interested we could also arrange for you to help them. I also often help them out. I have always been surrounded by people from different countries, the Netherlands is a multicultural society and I absolutely love this! I love to hear your life story, the traditions within your culture, the secret grandma recipes and many more! I am super open to every one and hope to learn about your background and culture!

Right now the glass house could use a little organization and we can start seeding together for the new season. The small seedlings need daily care. There is always something to do in the vegetable garden as well, to plant new beds or to maintain the ones that are growing or making space for wild flowers to grow. We can also chop some wood together (if you like) or organising the places which also includes some small cleaning tasks. I also have some willow branches that I would love to turn into baskets together. I cook a lot of food myself and preserve as well, so if you are into cooking that would be great! Next to this I am a huge textile and DIY nerd so always many textile projects to do ( i love knitting) and I can teach you this or if you are a knitter/crocheter or make any other creative projects please bring them as well!

I work online as a language tutor so always interesting to exchange on this topic! I will also be doing this job whilst you stay at mine, so we can for example start the outside activities together and then I might go on my laptop to teach a class and you can finish the activity or have time for yourself (depending on the activity and your motivation ;p)

I offer a guest room with a two persons bed. You will have your own room where you have space to withdraw and have your stuff. There is a big outside area where you can always sit or enjoy the hammock or go for walks. There is also the possibility to stay at mine in your own van. I do have a tent as well with a airbed if required, but that is a bit too cold in the winter months. Bathroom is shared and pretty small and you first need to make a fire to have warm water, so it takes a bit more time. I am totally enjoying the slow life! We can have lunch and dinner together if this works with my classes and for breakfast you are free to take it when you want. I try not to go to the supermarket so I buy everything at the local market, from local producers or I eat from my garden. I don't eat a lot of meat or fish, maybe once a week if the occasion is there, so if you eat vegetarian or vegan this is also totally fine. And meat-eaters of course as well I just don't usually serve meat. My cooking is pretty basic with pure natural ingredients, but you can add anything that you are missing or you would like to share!

    What else ...

There is a local bus stop 20 minutes away from my house or I can bring you to a train station if you like to go away for a night or weekend to the beach, the mountains or the city. Whatever you like to explore. The sea is about an hour away and so are the mountains and Turin.
I love the quiet and peace this place brings me and it would be good if you are interested in this too! I love to do everything in harmony with nature. I do have to work for money as well, so I might sometimes let you do the small tasks like watering the garden etc while I work online in the house. I have a cat but he is mostly outside.

The internet is really not great so doing two videomeetings at the same time doesn't work for example and I often have to switch to my hotspot on my phone to have better internet. Since I live to remote internet receptions is limited, but I do all of my work online so it does work but with lower quality and interruptions.
