We are a Norwegian/English family living in the beautiful area of Nesodden outside Oslo. Last summer we moved into a house which needs both maintenance, painting, and cleaning! In addition we have 20 chickens, 7 cats, 1 guineapig, and many plans and projects in the house and garden. We are often quite busy, and would love to have some help with some of these!
DIY and building projects
Creating/ Cooking family meals
Help around the house
We are often quite busy with work but we will eat some meals together, or maybe play some board games, which will give us a chance to get to know each other and learn about each others' cultures.
Types of work that we need help with at the moment (autumn 2020) are:
- Small carpentry and maintenance projects
- Cleaning, shopping and cooking
- Some garden work
- Caring for chickens
- German teaching
Our plans may change and workawayers must be willing to do whatever is necessary.

You will live in a small cabin in our garden, a few meters from our main house. There is a kitchen with a fridge and cooker, a bedroom with two beds as well as a livingroom with a (double) sofa bed and a very simple bathroom with an incineration toilet. You can use the shower and washing machine in the main house at times that we agree upon. You will have space to yourself to enjoy your spare time.
You can walk in the forest and along the coast, and relax in quiet surroundings. Normally you would also have the opportunity to go into Oslo to enjoy tourist life in the city, but with the Covid-19 situation we ask that any workawayers who come here avoid using public transport when possible, and limit the number of trips to Oslo.
