    Description

I am a retired American sailing my 13 meter sailboat around the world. I seek one crew with some sailing experience to assist in sailing from Fiji to Australia at the end of October or November.

The 1400 mile passage will take about nine days and the port of arrival is Bundaberg. As Australia is closed at present (09/09/20) an Australian citizen or resident is preferred, but not required. I have applied for an exemption to the border closure and can include a foreign crew. My insurance requires that I have one crew on board for longer passages.

"Gillean" is a clean, safe monohull. I have been sailing her for ten years and have voyaged 35,000 nautical miles, visiting two dozen countries and calling on more than 250 islands. I am looking for volunteer crew. I pay all boat expenses and provide meals, you pay for your transportation to/from the boat. You will have your own (small) cabin. If you are a woman, I can provide references (e-mail addresses) from prior female crew on request.

Australian border closure exemption requirements in place on arrival may require you to undergo a covid-19 test and/or remain in quarantine for 14 days (less the time on passage between Fiji and Australia), which may restrict you to the boat, at anchor, or a shoreside facility designated by Australian officials, at your expense. If so, I will pay for half of your required costs.
