Description
Hi, I'm Lars and I live in Jonvelle, a small village on the River Saône in eastern France.
I enjoy village life, gardening, meeting people from different backgrounds, and bringing life back to old houses that are part of the local heritage. Jonvelle is a peaceful place surrounded by nature, with opportunities for walking, cycling, swimming in the river, and exploring the beautiful countryside of eastern France.
I live here all around the year. Besides my regular work, I spend most of my time in and about the houses, doing restorations, managing builders, carpenters and ongoing works.
I am looking forward to welcoming open-minded travellers who would like to experience everyday life in rural France, share stories, languages and ideas, and become part of village life for a while. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The main reason for hosting is the opportunity to meet people from different countries and cultures and to share experiences together. Spending time here will definitely give you the chance of learning about French food culture and wine, in addition to learn about the history of this area, restoration techniques and gardening hacks.
Guests will have the chance to discover a side of France that most tourists never see, experience life in a traditional rural village, practise languages, learn about the history of the region, and enjoy the local culture and way of life. -
Help
I welcome help with everyday activities around the property and garden, as well as occasional household tasks.
Typical activities may include, helping in the garden, looking after outdoor spaces, light cleaning and organising, helping keep the property tidy, assisting with seasonal projects around the home.
No special skills are required. What is most important is a positive attitude, curiosity, reliability and a willingness to participate in daily life and cultural exchange.
The tasks are intended to be light and varied and leave plenty of time to explore the area and enjoy the local surroundings. -

Accommodation
Guests will stay in their own comfortable house in the village, providing plenty of privacy and independence.
Depending on availability, access to a vehicle can be arranged for shopping, discovering nearby towns and villages, and exploring the beautiful countryside along the River Saône. Dijon is a good hours drive from here.
And who knows – Jonvelle might become one of those places you never expected to find, but won't easily forget.
I am happy to provide meals and food arrangements as needed. Guests will usually have at least three full days off per week and I am happy to cover food costs throughout their stay.
At a minimum, I provide breakfast and a good main meal each day. We are in France, so good food is certainly not a problem! Guests have their own kitchen, and basic groceries and ingredients are provided so they can prepare additional meals whenever they like.
We will also cook together , whether I cook, they cook, or we prepare meals together. I am flexible and happy to arrange things in a way that suits everyone's schedule and preferences. -
