Description
Hi! We are Aga and Gaia, and we're welcoming people into our home in a small mountain village in Northern Italy. If you're looking for a meaningful exchange, a slower rhythm of life, and a chance to spend time close to nature, we'd love to hear from you.
Aga is a psychotherapist and retreat facilitator and lover of all things soulful and meaningful. Gaia has a background in regenerative design, permaculture, and conscious events. Between us, we have spent many years involved in community, ecological, and transformational projects around the world.
We live in a small ancient village in the Apennine mountains of Northern Italy, where we are now creating a simple and beautiful life close to nature. While we are nurturing a longer-term vision of a regenerative Temple Village rooted in connection, creativity, and conscious living, what we are offering today is much more personal: a chance to share our home, our daily life, and this early stage of the journey of building a community.
Life here is slow and seasonal. We spend our days caring for the house, tending the land, cooking, creating, hosting small gatherings, exploring the surrounding forests and mountains, and gradually bringing our vision into form.
We are looking for people who enjoy a simple lifestyle, appreciate nature, and feel inspired by meaningful conversations, sitting around the fire, creativity, personal growth, community living, and hands-on projects.
We live in a peaceful village just 7 minutes from Varsi, where you can find supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, shops, a pharmacy and other amenities.
This place is best suited to people who value respect, presence, and harmony. We do not welcome heavy drinkers, drug use, aggressive behaviour, or people looking primarily for a party atmosphere.
If you are seeking a quiet place to contribute, connect, and experience life in the Italian mountains, we would love to hear from you. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Beyond the practical projects, we are also interested in exploring a more conscious way of living together.
We value authenticity, meaningful connection, personal growth, creativity, and a sense of shared purpose. We are curious about what becomes possible when people come together with openness, respect, and a willingness to contribute.
This is still an emerging project, and we don't have all the answers. We are learning as we go, listening deeply, and allowing things to unfold organically rather than following a rigid plan.
For those who are interested, we are happy to share some of our spiritual, embodiment, and nature-based practices, as well as our growing library of books and resources. Participation is always optional and there is no expectation to engage with these aspects of the project.
We also love exploring the surrounding mountains, forests, rivers, and hidden corners of the region, and whenever possible we enjoy sharing hikes, adventures, and simple moments in nature together.
Above all, we hope to offer a space where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, enjoy meaningful exchanges, and experience the beauty of life in the Italian mountains. -
Help
At this stage, we are ideally looking for experienced and practical volunteers who enjoy creating things with their hands and helping bring a vision into form.
Current projects include building simple structures such as a compost toilet, outdoor shower, and outdoor kitchen, maintaining and creating gardens, harvesting firewood, and supporting various small tasks around the property.
What matters most to us is not having all the skills, but being willing to get your hands in the dirt, move some stones and wood, learn new things, and enjoy the process together.
We also have an old two-storey stone house that we are gradually clearing and restoring, gardens to tend, fruit to harvest, and plenty of wilderness to explore and enjoy.
Depending on the timing and current needs, you may contribute to:
🌿 Building simple outdoor structures (compost toilet, outdoor shower, outdoor kitchen)
🌿 Gardening and land regeneration
🌿 Harvesting and preparing firewood
🌿 Property maintenance and organisation
🌿 Cooking and sharing meals
🌿 Supporting the simple rhythms of daily life
We work alongside a local builder who takes care of the main construction work. Workawayers mainly support us with practical tasks, moving materials, gardening, maintenance, and helping bring the space to life.
We usually work around 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week.
The rest of the time is yours to relax, explore the mountains, enjoy nature, connect with the local community, or simply slow down and enjoy village life. -

Accommodation
We offer accommodation in tent, raised off the ground, fitted with inflatable mattress and bedding.
You will have access to the outside shower, compost toilet and kitchen where you'll be able to prepare your own breakfast with the ingredients we provide. We will share one main meal a day.
We have a healthy, lactose-free diet and generally avoid processed foods. We do not ask that of you but appreciate care in reducing waste and environmental impact. -
What else ...
You may feel resonance if:
You are comfortable with uncertainty
You can take initiative without needing constant direction
You are willing to engage honestly (with yourself and others)
You are curious about inner work as much as outer work
You don’t need to be “spiritual”, but we ask you to be real.
This may not be a good fit if:
You are looking for a holiday with light tasks
You need clear structure and constant guidance
You prefer to stay on the surface of things
Every Friday morning there's a local market in the main square and plenty of local events and feasts during the summer.
It is best for you to have your own vehicle/mobile-home, but we'll manage if you don't. We have a bike you can use to move independently. We just ask that you treat it kindly and keep it in good shape.
Ask us anything you may wish more clarity on, we are happy to receive that. -

It was amazing to have Alessio around. He renovated an old rotten door, helped us build a chicken hotel (not just a coop), maintaining the food forest, harvesting and prepping wood, and … read more
