Description
We are a trilingual family of four (English, Spanish and French) living Velez-Rubio Andalucia, not far away from Granada.
We have been humanitarian workers for the International Committee of the Red Cross. I (Santiago) am working home-based designing water systems for UNHCR in refugee camps. Federica is a Physiotherapist and loves yoga and cooking.
Lately, we've gone vegetarian, but you are free to eat whatever you please. Food also included!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You can have a peep at the humanitarian work, how it is to work in Somalia of Afghanistan or why millions of Europeans settle in this area of Spain, or how we cope as a half Swiss half Spanish family.
Having being hosted ourselves, we'll take good care of you. We are looking forward to learning a lot from you too.

Help
We need a native german speaker to teach our children while playing (intermediate level). Nothing too formal, just playing in Swiss German. You need to be full of imagination, engaging, playful... and even silly sometimes! Playmobil adventures are great for example. Or maybe build something out of cardboard or play a board game!
Mornings are completely free.
For a bit of variety, gardening/landscaping tasks can also be done.
We can offer 2-3 weeks duration stays.

We would like you to teach our children (ages 13 and 11), Swiss German while playing. Their high german level is about B2.
Accommodation
Spacious room with shower.

What else ...
Lots of stuff to see around and plenty of Nature. World-class cultural sites, such as Granada just 1.5 hours away. Climbing sites in walking distance with walls up to 300 m. Cycling routes (GR-10) starting from the gate.
But what previous workawayers have loved, is just the peace of the place.

Doing German with Aldara and Unai was really joyful and relaxed. They are super kind and talented children and we had a great German-Spanish language exchange.

The seven weeks you stayed by us have run so quick.
The progress the kids have done in German are amazing. Through playing and singing with you they have come up to only speak German with you. We could see lots of fun, good laughs, great time with Lotti. I really enjoyed our chatting moments around the table. Lotti it… read more
