Description
We re looking for houessitters.
If this is interesting for you, just write..
We want to bring together human community in a place of wild nature.
We are looking for neighbours, young and old - of all kind - as we have kids, of course especially families.
We dream of a neighboury community in the valley and the mountains around, mutual support with own space, free schooling (if that s true for you).
As a workawayer of course everyone else is just as welcome as well to come and enjoy this amazingly beautiful spot of nature for a moment.
We are a small family (daughter (2016) & son (2021) that started to build up an organic farm in the magnificent landscape of Parque Natural de Redes (there are plenty of hiking trails around, also horseriding tours, about 1 1/2 h from the beach, 1h driving to Oviedo and Gijon).
Our vision is to create a healing space esp. between nature and human, between humans... but we only just started, e.g. the barn that is to become a meditation/ yoga space is still a barn used by cows ;). Actually just any excuse to reconnect again with wild nature is healing we understand.
So far we do Permaculture (our main teachers are Jairo Restrepo and Fukuoka) and intend to listen to nature each time better.
We offer a cotton bell tent on our land (you can stand in it, it's almost 20 m2 big, there are normal beds inside). We welcome everybody, especially families, free learners/ unschoolers, people with knowledge of (Bio)Construction (we need to repair out roofs, so everyone with knowledge is most welcome ;)), but really any kind of person with a huge heart and a respectfull and sensitive apporach to mother earth.
We`ll share our normal food with you and ask for about 4 to 5h work/ day (weekends off).
If we have several persons asking to come, we may ask you if you mind sharing the tent (only men with men and women with women). There's also space to bring your own tent. Most camper vans won t make the last 2km up to our land (but it always depends on the Van, the driver and the weather).
We speak Spanish, German, Català, English and some French.
Your tasks will differ, it could be: help in permaculture (taking care of plants, bulding Hugelbeete, preparing Bokashi etc.), help in construction (reparing old roofs, rebuild barns, etc.), maintencance of the garden (clearing, etc.), everyday work (cooking, making bread, cleaning, accompanying child(ren) etc.). It will depend a lot on what you would like to do and which tasks there are.
Out of our experience, we add the following 2 bits:
Finally we will give you the tasks needed most those days you come, which ever serves the project best. If you are only interested in some specific task or for any reason don’t want to do specific kind of tasks – please let us know before – so we can check if those tasks you like are available at that time.
We understand all work to be equally important, from the person cleaning the streets to the president. We believe all is needed for a community to work. We are very happy if you share your special skills with us, because that can be a work you enjoy most and it can be rich for us – but this does not mean that you ll work less than 4-5h/ day. Even though in “normal world” your skill may be highly remunerated. That s okay to be like that in the world, but we don t share this philosophy for our project.
Supermarkets are at about 30 min. driving from us. We go about once a week and can give you a ride when needed.
It's an amazingly beautiful spot, but very remote at the same time (e.g. there is no public transportation close-by).
Looking forward to sharing with you!
Germà, Sophie and Katharina
PS: There s actually an almost abandoned small empty village next to our place. If you re also looking for a place to buy/ live/ share in nautre this may interest you ;).
PPS: We do have internet access via saltelite, but it s a limited one (so you can use it, but will have to turn off all update functions on your devices etc.)

Luma (my daughter) loved to play with Sophie(their 6 years old daughter). They have a lot of toys and one big trampoline, so the kids enjoyed each other.
Nairu(15 months) is such a nice baby too.
