Description
We are a Sustainable Living Demonstration Centre run by our Foundation.
This space is mainly dedicated to the conservation and preservation of ecosystems. To integrate harmoniously with the natural environment, we apply the tools offered by permaculture, such as self-construction, bio-construction and agroecology.
Through workshops, courses, and volunteer programmes, we share knowledge and experiences through theoretical and practical activities. All of this takes place in the privileged context of a native forest, surrounded by rivers, estuaries, and lush vegetation.
During spring and summer, our daily practices focus on construction, working in vegetable gardens, preparing firewood and harvesting fruit, along with everyday tasks in which we all participate, such as cooking, composting and maintaining dry toilets.
The centre has camping areas, dry toilets, a shower, a laundry room, sinks and a communal kitchen.

Somos un Centro Demostrativo de Vida Sostenible de la Fundación.
Este espacio está dedicado principalmente a la conservación y preservación de los ecosistemas. Para integrarnos de manera armónica con el entorno natural, aplicamos las herramientas que nos ofrece la Permacultura, tales como la autoconstrucción, la bioconstrucción y la agroecología.
A través de talleres, cursos y programas de voluntariado, compartimos conocimientos y experiencias mediante dinámicas teórico-prácticas. Todo esto ocurre en el contexto privilegiado de un bosque nativo, rodeado de ríos, esteros y una exuberante vegetación.
Durante la primavera y el verano, nuestras prácticas diarias se enfocan en la construcción, el trabajo en huertas, la preparación de leña y la recolección de frutas, junto con las tareas cotidianas en las que todos participamos, como la cocina, el compostaje y el mantenimiento de baños secos.
El centro cuenta con espacios para acampar, baños secos, ducha, lavadero, lavamanos y una cocina comunitaria.

You will learn carpentry, self-build and eco-construction techniques, how to manage vegetable gardens and terraces, and how to make personal hygiene products (toothpaste, deodorant and soap).
You will discover a beautiful community with a privileged natural environment; mountains, rivers, volcanoes and native forests characterise this area. You can visit parks, hot springs and lakes on your days off.

Accommodation
The space currently offers camping facilities. We do not have tents available, but we do have mattresses, sheets, and bedding.
We offer volunteers breakfast, lunch, and dinner from an ovo-lacto vegetarian menu on the days they are working. On days when they are not volunteering, they are asked to contribute food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We ask everyone to bring external batteries to charge their devices (mobile phones/computers). We try to avoid using too much electricity, as the cost of this service in the area where we live is one of the most expensive in Chile. If you are travelling with a solar charging system or other device, that is even better.

El espacio por ahora ofrece sector para acampar, no contamos con carpa (tienda) para facilitar; pero si contamos con colchón, sabanas y ropa de cama para facilitar.
A l@s voluntarios les ofrecemos desayuno, almuerzo y cena en un menú ovo lacto vegetariano los días que están trabajando. Los días que no están de voluntarios se les solicita aportar con alimentos para el desayuno, almuerzo y cena.
A todos y todas les solicitamos traer baterías externas para cargar sus equipos (celular/pc). Tratamos de evitar usar mucha electricidad ya que la zona donde vivimos el costo de este servicio es uno de los mas caros de Chile. Si viajas con un sistema de carga solar u otro mucho mejor.

The EME bus company is the closest to where we are located, Santa Barbara. At this same terminal, you will find rural buses to take you to Rucalhue.
