Description
We are a vegetarian family, mainly following a raw food lifestyle, and we work professionally with organic vegan products.
We are looking for one or two people who can stay for at least two weeks to help us with the following tasks:

Swimming pool care
Animal care: feeding and looking after our cats, guinea pigs, and chickens
Helping in the kitchen during meal times
We live near Nîmes, in Langlade, in the south of France — about 40 minutes from the sea and 15 minutes from Nîmes by car.

Help
We are looking for a vegetarian or vegan helper who holds a valid driver’s licence and can drive a manual-shift car to assist with the upkeep of our garden and house. We work from home in the vegetarian and raw-food sector on our online buisiness. Our house is a normal family house, there is no production occuring there. Both short and long stays are possible. Over the past nine years we have welcomed more than 90 Workawayers from around the world.

📌 Suitable Profiles
Here are the profiles we accept; please don’t waste your time (or ours) applying if you do not meet these requirements:
👉 MANUAL DRIVING LICENCE — MANDATORY
👉 VEGETARIAN or VEGAN
You may feel uncomfortable or frustrated with our mainly raw, plant-based diet; people used to a “standard” diet often struggle to adapt and don’t feel well here. Switching from a conventional diet to a mostly raw, plant-based one is a big leap, and we don’t want everyone cooking separately.
We buy the food and choose the menus together — this is not a shared flat where everyone has their own shelf in the fridge.
We have welcomed more than 70 workawayers over the years, with a wide range of experiences.
⚠️ PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
Due to past unpleasant experiences, we cannot host workawayers who:
have had or currently have psychiatric disorders
smoke or drink alcohol at home
are allergic to cats
have no interest in learning at least basic French
👋 Who we are & where we live
We are looking for an open-minded vegetarian person to help us in the south of France. Our home is located 40 minutes from the beach and 15 minutes from Nîmes by car.
Nearest train stations:
Vergèze (12 minutes)
Nîmes (15 minutes on the other side of town)
Within one hour: Montpellier, Avignon, Arles, Uzès, Lyon or Aix-en-Provence
Marseille is 1 hour 30 minutes away.
Éric has been running an online business for 18 years focused on raw and organic food, importing superfoods from more than 15 countries (Spain, Thailand, Morocco, USA, Taiwan, etc.).
Aurélie is a culinary chef working with professionals in the restaurant industry.
We have six children in total, but only Zia (10 years old) lives at home. Léane (20) studies in Montpellier and Cloé (22) lives and works in Nîmes. Éric’s three other children live elsewhere, and his eldest daughter visits occasionally.
We both work full-time from home.
🥗 Food & lifestyle
We are vegetarian, mostly vegan, and passionate about raw food.
👉 At home, there is no:
meat
fish
alcohol
cow’s milk
gluten
👉 Occasionally:
a little cheese
eggs from our chickens (when we find them in the garden 😄)
👉 Instead, you will discover:
daily sprouts and seaweeds
homemade plant-based milks (sprouted almonds, tigernuts…)
dehydrated raw crackers
raw vegan sushi
sprouted seed pâtés
raw birthday cakes
🤝 What we expect
We are looking for someone who is:
non-smoker
vegetarian or vegan
comfortable with family life
curious and willing to learn
Tasks may include:
gardening
small household tasks
help to cook
👉 Experience with children is a plus
We value cultural exchange and sharing.
Éric, of Dutch origin, has travelled extensively.
Aurélie, with an artistic background, has also travelled widely.
🌿 Living environment
Composting dry toilets
🌡️ Climate:
very hot from June to September
Nîmes is the hottest city in France
the house stays cool despite the heat
📍 Surroundings:
very quiet neighbourhood with large properties
1700 m² land with many fruit trees
private borehole for water
🚗 Access:
Nîmes city centre 15–20 minutes away
tram/bus (T5) available in the village
🌳 Nature:
garrigue (Mediterranean scrubland) 200 m away with endless hiking
greenway (former railway turned bike path) crossing the village
📶 Internet & phone
high-speed fibre internet
Wi-Fi turned off at night to reduce EMF exposure during sleep
📞 How to apply
We suggest a first video call via WhatsApp or Telegram.
👉 Please include your phone number in your first message (we will send ours in return).
⏳ Important
👉 We do not accept applications more than 6 weeks in advance.
👉 No need to apply in winter for summer stays, or the opposite.
Please read our previous workawayers’ reviews to make sure this experience suits you.
See you soon!
